Yeah, the arrival of virtupets was the first plot ever. I don't think there's much of it left at all anymore.

I remember doing Usurper and missing it by having switched two things the wrong way. Logic problems are definitely not my favorite things ever. I also remember hating Neopets for making the Curse of Maraqua plot have a sign-up time limit.

When Maraqua was being destroyed, I went and bought a ton of utility fish for about 1-10k each. I still have about 15 of them, but I used to have them all except the Discoballfish I think. Now I dont even want to bother selling them. They have no purpose at all and are probably kind of HTS. I hate selling HTS things. Plus they move and I like them.

Honestly, I hate ads. I argued for months against the banners on Neopets, the offers on the signup form that permanently ruined your email address, the immersive advertising, Neopets Premium etc.. I hated it all from the start and so did Donna. There's a good reason that we left the company shortly after that ugly big banner went up on top of each page.

Does anyone else remember Grundo's Gym? You had to wiggle your mouse around for hours to get "discount cards" for neopoint purchases. What a huge waste of time. I loved it!

I remember trying for DAYS in vain to defeat anything in the tyrannia plot, until someone finally explained how to attach weapons to a pet. It was my very first battledome experience. Lol.

Mostly, I just remember seeing items selling for 50k and thinking "Who in their right mind would ever play this game enough to amass 50k??? What an insane price!" (sigh)

Oh, Grundo's Gym! I nearly forgot about that. I think that it was taken down about a month or two after I started playing Neopets. How unfortunate.

I remember after I first joined Neopets finding a lifetime Membership card to Grundo's Gym and thinking, "cool, I can get in and earn great stuff & NP"... Unfortunately it had been recently(?) cancelled and I could never get in That was annoying ...

I remember grundo's gym! omg it's been a while hasn't it? I also remember when lab ray pieces were around 2k each
and the first pet I ever made came with 50np or something and I thought that was great, so I made more pets just for the money XD all of them had stupid names like neopet8617
I remember the old layout with the single yellow sidebar, and no ads!
Oh yeah I also remember when auto-refreshers and scam pages were so common
And GENERAL CHAT! I miss that chat room!

I also remember when avatars where first introduced, and how I thought it was lame that you couldn't just choose your own av like on other forums

And tombola used to give out bottled faeries every second turn

and there were no limits on how many times you could play flash games

there were so much more! gosh this thread is making me feel nostalgic T_T

Hm. Let's see...
I remember a LOT of stuff from the old days...
-When you needed totems to get to Mystery Island and the Ice Caves (which you could get by signing up with sponsors)
-When you could get a "discount card" that automatically took 15% or 25% off your purchases
-When shops sold stuff like Danish Bacons for 7nps each
-Being able to ask for a faerie quest whenever you wanted. If you didn't like it, all you had to do was wait the 10 minutes and try again. (that's why the 10 minute wait is there), you know.
-A game that isn't in the game graveyard, where you went around bopping I think evil fuzzles on the head. They came out of craters or something.
-Paintbrushes only being like, 10k. I recall painting my pets frequently, just for fun.
-The video store, the Apothecary, utility fish, and the old maraquan kitchen quests and maraquan food store.
-Fighting in the early battledome against the powder puff girls with an o-so-awesome Tatsu Flash power.
-Tatsus. I mean, seriously, the Eyrie is cool and all, but they could've kept the Tatsu around and made the Eyrie a second species.
-Codestones being ~500nps
-Discovering Tyrannia - the crack in the ice caves, the lava, the shaking of the screen random event when you visited there, and then the tunnel that led to Tyrannia.
-The Tyrannian war. Yes. I fought in it.

I guess the only difference was i had my eyrie when it was still a cerpull or however you spell it, before tatsu, his name was gogoc, and i miss that whole account so much. i've had dreams where tnt finally responds to my emails and i get on my account and it's
unfortunately for me, we had a friend who downloaded a dubloon disaster program, and because he used it on one computer, about 6 accounts got frozen, 3 of mine, 2 of my friends, and obviously our other friend who used the program. i'm still really mad about that. quit neopets for a few years. now i'm back with a month old account, haha.
