well...yes, but welles IS unicron, remember that bit at the end where unicron sounds a bit off?
leonard nemoy did his voice for that (orson died before doing the voice for that scene) with a bit of technological dohickyness.
and besides the films set during the war on cybertron (so before the ark incident) and unicron could only feasibly make a cameo appearance (think, as the film ends there is a temporary respite, then we zoom off to the far side of the galaxy and see unicron eating a planet, we look inside that mind computer thing and see cybertron...unicron sets off in search of his nemesis older than creation itself, to rend, tear, DESTROY!
