Holidays With Two Fighting Friends...

Oh boy. My ex-boyfriend, we'll call him Uno, is my best friend. We took a friendship break for a while but now we're close as ever. Only, I had a major crush on some guy, we'll call him Dos. Dos and I became great friends, but as soon as I confessed my feelings for him, he got scared. Dos said he felt better as friends, but he'd think about it.
So I was upset, but I got over it pretty quick. Only Uno thinks Dos was horrible for that. He hates him now and all he talks about is how much he hates him. They used to be really good friends, but suddenly he doesn't trust him at all.

And now, I just finished fighting with Uno online about Dos. He told me to pick one friend, either him or Dos. I can't believe that now I have to choose between them. We used to have a perfect friendship, and suddenly Uno's hatred for Dos just ripped us apart.

Blechity. Sooo...Dear Abby...what should I do? I won't choose either Uno or Dos, I know that. Geez, whatever happened to peace on earth and goodwill to men?

Augh, you shouldn't have to pick between the two of them. That's terrible that he's insisting that.

If they are selfish enough to act like that, ignore both Uno, and Dos

Hah, hah, Chris. I would say don't listen to a thing he says, but I was going to say the same thing. 0:)

I guess the best you can do, is tell them you'd rather not choose, or something. Then leave them alone in the same room (or better yet, two different rooms with a great sound system in between 'em) and let them discuss why making you choose between two friends is a really stupid thing to do. Or something.

He probably dislikes Dos because he is insecure about himself in your friendship, anybody who would ask you to CHOOSE friends is insecure, possessive and selfish.

I would tell Uno to grow up and realize that if he has a problem with your relationships with other people, he should keep it to himself.

Heh, that's a bit impossible. The reason Uno and I stopped dating was because he realized he was gay.

Yeah, I haven't seen Dos in a while, but that's because he has work. I want to see what he thinks about this whole thing. Perhaps we can make a truce for Christmas?

Maybe he feels a brotherly type of protection towards you? OR (wild shot) he may have a crush on Dos and is trying to hide it...

Haha! Actually it's pretty funny how you said Uno liked Dos. I had that theory going on for a long time. He is pretty protective over me though. I guess that's because he's the brother of his family who has to watch over his sisters...to to him I'm just another sister to protect from the evils of "the world".

(And he's VERY dramatic too!)

Eh, things should work out. I can feel it. ^___^
