Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

In Florida, earlier today 41 year old Terri Schiavo died of starvation.
The court wouldn't put her feeding tube back in.
She went 13 days suffering from starvation.
She fought for her life, she was a great person.
REST IN PEACE TERRI!

Theres a topic about this in debate... so I don't think I should debate on whether she was suffering or not.
I find it quite amazing though that she went 13 days without food and water. Considering most humans wouldn't be able to go 2-3 days (or so the studies would say) without water... (more like 3 weeks without food), it's quite impressive.
But in a way i'm glad she's dead. Let her suffering end. Nobody should have to be put through that, no matter what state they're in.

What really got to me was they said starving was a painless death.
How can they know that?
Did someone die of starvation and come back to life to tell about it?

If she could feel the pain of starving to death, I can
fully understand why you feel letting her live in her vegetative state for another 15 years is kinder and morally right. I love your ideals.

Or has looked at her brain and seen that she can't feel pain?

OK, this is starting to turn into a debate. I don't mean to backseat mod, but this is just drifting towards a debate, so please keep on topic as it would be a shame if this thread got locked.
It's always sad when someone loses their life, even if they wished to die, and I know that Terri will be missed by quite a few people. Rest In Peace Terri.

My debate sensors are on red-alert-mode so I'll make this short
R.I.P, but don't forget that there are poeple who have and do suffer so much more than in this case. Then again what measures who suffers more? Oh, this world is just sick. And that's all for me folks!

If you wish to debate on this subject, do it in the thread in the debate board.
If I see any more speculation and debating, I'll lock this thread.

I've been following case since the feeding tube was removed, and all I I'm can say is I'm glad its over. Rest in peace.

I find that absolutely disgusting. Nobody should be put through that. Heck, criminals shouldn't be put through that. I too am glad that she is dead. Her suffering has finally ended. Rest in peace, Terri.

She didn't do anything all day but sit, so I can see how she'd survive.
It's a shame that she was impaired.

Fair enough, but is this thread then restricted to RIP x42?

Although I never thought I would say this, I agree with Skullsplitter. This case is divided right down the middle. Many people feel passionately about it, and not everybody in the general forums is capable of restraining themselves from getting in to an argument or making a heated statement.
Having a good twenty people say, "R.I.P. Terri" is not a discussion, and this board's purpose is discussion. If you wish to debate Terri's circumstances, do so in the Debate board. If you wish to pay your respects, you can find information here:
http://www.terrisfight.org/
This simply isn't the place for sensetive topics. We don't allow political nor religious debates here, and this case is steeped in both.
That said, I'm afraid this topic has to be locked.
