Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

Apologies - I wasn't completely sure if this belonged here...
I think we had a thread on this last year: for those of you who remember it, November is coming up fast. =D For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about:
http://www.nanowrimo.org
The goal of Nanowrimo, or National Novel Writing Month, is to write a 50,000 word novel during one month. (November, although a lot of people do it independently during other months.) It is
so much fun if you're a writer. Or even if you aren't. =D
Anyway, I know we have at least a few PPTers who are Wrimos, right? October's coming up...I've made myself wait to get plans set out til then...otherwise I'll be too anxious to write it before November 1st!

I've got vague plot ideas, but nothing definite...maybe a remake of last year's novel (which, sadly, I did not finish), but with a stronger plotline and less random pregnancies.

I'm definately having a go, wait, is this American? If it is it may be harder to send my donation in. I'm gonna go around for sponsors and send the money in.

It's actually International. Not just 'national'.

In a wild effort to gain enough Creativity hours to last me past the IB Diploma, I'll be writing something this year

Sigh. I tried it for the first time last year -- I've written poems longer than my "novel" word count. It just didn't get off the ground.

Yep.

Once again for the third year, I'm nanowrimoing.

Rather than making it to 50k words, I'm happy if I beat the previous years' attempts, which are rather pitiful. ^.^ lol There is something about NaNoWriMo that just sucks the inspiration from me, but it's fun to participate in nonetheless. haha

I heard it's best if you don't have a plot planned, just write some crap that vaguely interconnects into a story.

I'd participate, but November's a really bad time for me - final exams x.x Maybe I'll try in December/January.
I find it easier to write if I have a plot in my head, or planned out. That way I know where the story's headed, as well as being able to include foreshadowing.

50,000 words of Buffy fanfic?
I can die happy.
Sat Sep 24, 2005 12:26 pm
But will it be good enough in only a month? I think it would be more fun to have no planned plot, just vaguely interconnecting with a slight bit of foreshadow herrings.

I might give it a shot this time around, but then again, I don't think November'll be a great month for me...
It doesn't help that I write far better on paper than on a computer, either.
Sat Sep 24, 2005 12:57 pm
Couldn't you just write it down and type it up?
Sat Sep 24, 2005 1:48 pm
Yes, but she won't know as she's going how many words she's typed.
(Cassi, I'm the same as you

)

I think I might try it this year.

I'm doing it this year. Well, trying anyhow.
