Hey,
I want to buy a gift for a teacher of mine who's birthday is coming up soon. This teacher went out of her way to give us stuff and help us out during the year so far, so I want to say a nice thank you. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

buying things for teachers is can be difficult
If the entire class wanted to help, buy a really nice scrapbook and decorate it. Get each classmate to write a page about the influence your teacher has had on their life and why your teacher's great.

Do you know anything about what she likes? Even small things.

No idea really, I was thinking of some kind of nice chocolates, but any other ideas are much welcome.

Hey, we all like chocolate. :P
You could buy her, like, some kind of apple-related thing.. *gasp* Apple pie! Or not.. :P But maybe some kind of apple thing, since apples are teacher thingys..

Well, when my oldest was in kindergarten, the teacher used so many post-it notes to send us notes home, we gave her a cool set of apple shaped post-its for Christmas to replace all the ones she used.
You can get her a really nice pen. Teachers are always losing pens.

Is there one of those Chicken Soup books for teachers? That would be cool.

The pen idea is good
Flowers also go down well. If you want to get her a few things, get her one thing she can keep forever and flowers.

As a thank you to my food teacher for helping us out so much and spending her whole day at school for our open evening, we got her a box of chocolate and a little teddy bear. That way she had something she could eat, but also something she could always keep. =)

Are her ears pierced? You could give her earrings

Or, if not, a scarf or something? xD

I think the Chicken Soup for the Teacher's Soul is a great idea.
Or as Jasujo also mentioned, nice stationary or a fancy pen.

I think the book is a very good idea. It encourage her to continue to be a good teacher and it is something that she can keep too. You may want to write something inside the cover and she can never misplace your message.
