Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

Just a poll. If for some reason some people wig out over this I guess it could be moved to the debate area.

It is never right to commit a wrong act, even for a good cause.

Yah.. what he said. Although I was totally confused over this.

Well I suppose that brings up the question of what is "wrong" because some could consider confining a person away from the public for several years as wrong. More over who has the right to make the judgements for what (if any) punishment is recieved? Because without any consequences being ensured then what would be a deterant?

No. Although two lefts make a right, two wrongs do not, in my opinion.
Of course, I have four siblings who don't know when to stop fighting... so that probably adds to that. -.^

one of my best friends said this:
"two rights don't make a wrong, they make a U-turn"
how wise indeed

Well... Depends... For things like punishment, a wrong on the punishers part (i.e. time out) is necissary... So an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth... somewhat...
And two rights make a U turn, two U turns makes a circle, two circles make a figure of 8, two figure of 8s make a butterfly...
Edit: Right... My set keep changing XD

Actually, it's not a figure of 8, it's infinity.
And no, two wrongs don't make a right. And true, it does depend on the person's point of view what is wrong. What's wrong to one person could be right to another.

Punishment is given where punishment is due.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three do.
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
I agree with Setekh. Punishment is deserved where it's needed.

"An eye for an eye"? No. If someone chops off your leg, you are not legally entitled to chop their leg off in return. I, personally, am a firm believer of karma- the leg-chopper will get their punishment eventually, you don't need to hurry the process.

Had to happen eventually I guess.
Don't belive in Karma, it stinks of "Third world citizens did something bad in a previous life so nyeah" to me.

Plain, unreligious "karma" and "past lives" are two entirely unrelated subjects.
