Since my rabbit died a week or so ago, we just got two guinea pigs! My brother picked one out yesterday, because it was his rabbit, and then we felt sorry for him 'cause he looked lonely, so I got to get another one today^^
Their names are Minya (my brother's) and Alphonse. Minya is white with toffee-colored patches, and Al is dark brown with a light brown swirl that looks kinda like a tassel on the top of his head (hence his name

). We got them from the same place, so they know each other already and they're currently snuggling in the plastic shelter we have in their cage. Minya is a bit braver, since he's been here longer, and he comes out if no one's looking. Al is really shy, but he's very calm and snuggly.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures of them up. They're both really sweet

i have a guinea pig...it's really cute, but lazy. when we clean her cage we can put her on the floor on a blanket (an old one) and trust her not to run away.

Haha...lazy guinea pigs. My Scruffy will only move if food is involved.

I've never had a rodent as a pet but I always thought a black squirrel would make a good pet; the only problem is they're really rare.
I'm terrible at cleaning cages, my motto is "there's always tomorrow" when it comes to that sort of thing. That's why I get dogs; they're very easy to take care of.

I used to have two guinea pigs, I thought they were both boys untill one had a baby, turned out it was a male and a female!

I had a Guinea Pig named Humphrey once. He lived for about five years. He loved to eat dandilion leaves and would hardly ever touch hard pellets. He also got a lot of vegetable peels when we made salads and stuff.
I'd like to have another Guinea pig because at least he was a good alarm system. No one could enter or leave the house without hearing "Wheeet! Wheeet!"
He'd make that sound if someone said his name too. He knew when people were talking about him.

Is it true that if you hold them upside down by their tail that their eyes will fall out?

Why would you even try such a stupid thing?

I used to have two guinea pigs, Chocolate and Mint Jr.
We had to get rid of them because my Dad's allergies were that bad.
It was a long time ago.

Hmmm.. all the guinea pigs I've heard sounded more like a high squeeky "vut vut vut".

If your male isn't neutered, get him neutered. There's a horrid guinea pig overpopulation problem (check petfinder.com if you don't believe me). As well, 1/5 guinea pig females die giving birth and there's a lot of issues with that.

But yeah. Guinea pigs are pretty awesome, just make sure to feed them right, and house them right and you'll have wheeking squeeking pigs in no time!

Well my guinnea pig did make a vut vut sound but he also made the high pitched wheeet wheeeet sound when very excited, as he usually was when someone came in the house or exited. He usually squealed like that because I would go outside and pick dandilion leaves and then when he heard me come back in, he smelled them and would squeal loudly for them. Then he started associating the sound of the door opening and closing with getting his leaves, so he just started squealing every time.
