Wed Feb 21, 2007 10:34 pm

Ouch! I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tommorrow so you guys can expect to see a sudden increase of posting by me in the next few teeths. Two worst things in the world: Dentists and IV's
They're the root of evil

my dentist in england said that i would only need to get my wisdom teeth removed if i started getting infections.

then i went to one in australia who pretty much wanted to take them out then and there!

i'll let you guess which one was the private one!! needless to say i told them i was quite happy to keep my teeth for the time being

I fail to understand the meaning of this!

Anyway, good luck with that. Wisdom teeth hurt like mad. I know this because I've got them. They don't need to be removed though.

I had mine out when I was in my early twenties. Are you going under at the hospital or will you be awake at the dentists office? I went to the hospital, I didn't want any memory of it! I used to get pretty severe headaches on a daily basis before I got them out, but they went away completely after. I was only sore for 2 days I think, I remember eating Kraft Dinner later that evening so it wasn't that bad.

The worst part is the stitches get kinda irritating after awhile. I kept trying to pull them out in the mirror, drove me crazy.

Good luck with it, I promise it's not as bad as you think! :)

Edit: Ginger^^ I think that's supposed to be days but someones got teeth on the brain! :D

Other than the aggravating pain, that sounds really nice. And, uh, besides the lack of parts of your body.

(Reminds me of a hilarious C+H where Calvin is putting a tooth under his pillow and he comments on the morality of selling his own body parts.)

My dads dentist had his knee on me dads chest trying to pull a tooth out through force...
He's not been to the dentist since, and I've not been in something like two years because they all went private!

Fortunetly, couple fillings aside My teeth are well 'ard.

I got my wisdom teeth out back in December. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be--and I had some weird reactions. Don't worry about it. Just listen to your oral surgeon and take it easy. You'll be fine. :)

Ouch...sounds horrible. I haven't even gotten them yet and I'm almost 20, so maybe that's a good thing?

The day I got my teeth out I slept all day. The first time I tried to eat something I threw it up because of the medicine on my stomach and nothing else. Second day it was ok, but I still couldn't eat. Thrid day mac and cheese was my friend. Good luck :)

Hmm... I hope I won't have to go through that. I only have two wisdom teeth, but they're fine and not impacted. I do have a tooth I need to get checked out, though. :\

I only had my bottom two out, and it didn't hurt too much. It was very awkward to chew for ages though, so don't try it!

They should give you some pain medication and an ice pack after you get them out. Don't take the pain killer right away unless they say it's alright, because stuff like asprin will prevent the surgery site from healing. However, the ice pack is your friend! Never forget that; it not only stops the pain, but prevents swelling. They'll tell you to use it very often, and don;t be afraid to do so. You don't have to pie down the whole time though...just holding up to your face will work nicely. :)
