Well, it does say it was invented for soldiers, who wouldn't exactly be able to do laundry any time they wanted and might experience more extreme conditions. The idea of wearing the same pair of underwear for weeks is still kind of ecch, but if it helps people who are in a hotter climate than they're used to and sweating like crazy, more power to them.

if it does kill bacteria, and the bacteria dont become resistant to it, then surely there would be a possible application of the material in hospitals?
the repels water bit makes it sound like its all plasticy, which wouldnt be nice.
