My parents never really punished me. Not that I was a good girl, but because being mildly autistic it didn't have much effect on me. Most that they did was send me to my room. Which always caused problems.
My grades used to be good but they fell apart badly when I got sick a lot at school. Again they didn't punish me for it because they understand I was sick a lot. I only ever had one detention in all my school life because of talking in class. I only ever had one friend at school that never really happened. To tell the truth I hated school, so I made up being sick about 1/4 of the time
I have never been grounded. I never had a social life to be grounded from.

This confuses me.
Being as I am, high stage autistic I suppose.

I never get punished for anything because my siblings are so horrible by comparison. My parents trust me enough not to put curfews on me, check my report cards, or care if I stay up all night. It's not that I do anything bad, but the freedom is great.

I was harder on myself as a kid than my parents ever were. They knew that, so they went pretty easy on me.
However, I once walked out of a math class because my teacher was harassing the other students so badly. (She was eventually asked to resign.) The principal wound up calling my parents. They decided that I was such a bad child that I really ought to be punished by being taken to Graeter's and smelling all that ice cream I couldn't eat, while having to eat a giant bowl of sorbet with those little gummy things I like.
