Also, you might want to dip a cloth in cold water and wrap the cloth around your hand until most of the pain goes away. Then wrap your hand in gauze, if you have any handy.
you *could* do taht but i suggest the tomato

Why the heck would you use a tomato?! O_o;; Just 'cause tomato's are cool...do you mean cold-cool or nice-cool? (Dunno if that made sense...)

If the pain is really bad, you could try taking some aspirin or another painkiller.

Tomatoe?...thats well, odd.Anyways Aloe will soothe the burn and after that just try to keep it cool and the pain should ease off.

Ohhhh, wow. *hugs* Try ice. Thats all I know.

I hope you feel better.

Ouch... try aloe vera cream, or burn cream if you have any. If you have neither of those, neosporin works wonders. (If you don't have that, I suggest you seriously stock up on some basic medical supplies

)

Tomato?! That's hilarious.
I was burned once... I spilled a little bit of hot cup noodle on my hand. I just got ice wrapped in a wash cloth and it did the job. Then again I don't think it was as severe as yours. Ouchies.
Or you could just walk it off. No pain no gain.

I have burnt myself more times than I care to remember. Hot irons, hot pizza pans, you name it, I have done it. The best stuff I have found for burns is "Neosporin + Pain Relief." I also use it on my daughter's sunburns all of the time. It has stuff in it to prevent infection and keep you from scarring and also has some kind of pain killer in it to stop the burn from hurting. Spread it on the burn and then gently dab off the excess.
I don't suggest a bandage because the burn needs air in order to dry out and heal and bandages tend to keep a burn too moist to do that.
Feel better!

Suffer through the pain till it subsides, or douse it in cold water, numbing it, well until you turen the water off then the pain mite surge back, but uh, thats about all you can do.

I've heard that butter is supposed to help, but I don't know why.
Does anyone know why people say putting butter on burns helps?

I thought one of the last things you'd want to put on a burn is butter. I can understand the tomato part (cool and soft), but not the butter.

It doesn't matter now considering the burn happened hours ago, but rubbing butter on a fresh burn is a terrible idea. The butter melts and forms a thick layer over your skin, which inhibits the heat from leaving the burned area (thereby causing more damage). And I have yet to hear about the medicinal properties of tomatoes. When you're in pain, stick to what's scientifically proven to relieve it. Why mess around?
