The way i do it, is strange. I put water in my mouth first, then, I swallow the pill. You don't really taste it. Trust me, I have HUGE pills.

I don't like to swallow pills either.....when I get sick I just take Alka-Seltzer....

I can swallow most pills. They really don't have a taste. The only problem is when I need to take gigantic pills. One got lodged in my throat and I had to drink a lotta water to get it down. ^_^;;

What I do- I usually have a glass of water prepared right before I take the pill. I put the pill in my mouth, and quickly take a drink of the water. I swallow, and the pill usually goes down my throat with the water. I never have to taste the pill at all.

What I found that works is to put the pill in your mouth in the middle of your tounge, put some water into your mouth, and then tilt your head back as though you're going to gargle the water. Then, you swallow all of the water; the pill should've left along with the water. If not, try again. Once the pill goes down you should drink a bit more of the water because it's good for you and it'll wash some of the nasty taste out of your mouth.

They say you should drink a full glass of water with pills anyway, though hardly anyone does.

Am I the only one that hates chewable pills? I only take the swallowable kind. With chewable ones, you have to taste them, and I don't care if they're flavored like grape, orange, or Fijian mango, they always taste horrible. With swallowable kinds, you never have to taste them.
Kristina, if you can't swallow the pills fast enough not to taste them, try using juice instead of water. It'll counteract the nasty pill taste a little.

My method's kinda like Dawn's- try taking a deep breath, then throw the pill into your mouth and take a gulp of whatever liquid you have. Works for up to 5 mini-pills at a time or 2 horse pills.

Kyra's method is shapu's method: Put it under your tongue, right in front of the frenulum (that little flap of tissue that holds your tongue to the floor of your mouth), and then swallow. It's easiest with water, but I usually do it dry because I'm too lazy to go to the kitchen.
I used to get sick a lot too when I was a kid - mostly sinus infections. I came to love the taste of Sine-Off, which was my mother's preferred over-the-counter medication for sinusitis at the time. I was really disappointed when they stopped making it.

I don't really like pills, but when I have to take them, I pop one into my mouth, drink some water, then gulp everything down, pretending that there is no pill.

What I did when I wasn't able to take them, was to put them in a spoonful of jam. Originally I did it half a pill at a time (only works if you can break the pill), and then put a full pill in the jam, then eventually I was able to take it without needing the jam at all.

The coated pills aren't hard to swallow. I swallow them using nothing but my spit. It's the un-coated ones that are the worse... like aspirin. They are dry, chalky, and bitter. Guess you can swallow that kind down with some gulps of that slimy chocolate milk they have at stores.

Well, I find it quite easy to get a large glass of juice (fizzy usually) and I place the pill on the center of my toungue. I then get my juice and start gulping it down, not stopping. The juice's taste takes the pills taste away and if you keep drinking it will go down.

if what everyone else has suggested doesnt work, see if you can get the pills you need to take in 'caplet' form (not round), or the sugar coated ones. they dont taste so bad, and as they're coated they dont stick to your tongue/mouth and slide down easier, it's more like eating a sweet.
