My family never cleans anything the day before Chinese New Year o.O
And today my mum asked my dad if he had given us our Liscee(sp?) packets yet, and my dad said he forgot to bring it XD
And when we phoned our relatives in China to say Happy Chinese New Year, I kept forgetting to speak in Mandarin and kept saying stuff like "Hello?" and "Yah ..."

Time of the year when you stuff yourself :3 No cleaning during CNY or you '"clean away the good luck" ^w^
Whoops, second mistake.
I realised that the chang shou one was completely wrong. No wonder I didn't "remember" the first two characters. XP
There's fireworks today, I think, I hope, I pray.

Happy Chinese/Lunar New Year!
I think I know the actual phrase for that, but I'm not going to even attempt to phoneticize it; it would probably come out worse than my attempts at Hebrew.

How embarassing. You quoted the unedited version so I have typos.

Thank goodness most people here can't read Chinese. Too bad my software will only let me type in Simplified form.

Usually married couples give two to one kid. These red packes contain money! I suppose this is to wish people good luck for the following year.
All my relatives are on the other side of the world.
I don't get any Ang Baos.
I got $20 from my mom last year though^_~ teehee.
