Just to clarify (since you've said Nanowrimo isn't for you for other reasons, as well) -- while some participants do make some or all of their work public, that is not a requirement (or even a part) of Nanowrimo.

Yep :) The word count is done by something automatic (you just have to email it to them, or something along those lines, and it counts it - you can even mess up the letters if you want to be cautious), it's never seen by anyone if you don't want it to be.

Nope. All words are yours and yours alone. Novels emailed in at the end of the month for word count verification are deleted, unread, after being verified.

I might have to try it this year. I've always wanted to write stuff, but I never get around to it, so all my ideas are still in my head.

So hopefully I'm not as busy in November as I have been lately. I know I've got a few things planned in November, but hopefully I won't be busy all day every day.

I'm gonna try it this year. The good thiong about it is I already had an idea in my head for a novel a few days ago, but I've forgotten it now. Ah well, it'll come to me.

Hehe, I actually took time to read the rules and I read that part, Paul. I guess I might join it, I mean... 50000 words isn't really that much, it's only about 1667 words every day... I think I can manage as long as I manage to come up with a decent plot ;).

EDIT: That's actually like 3 pages a day... meaning... 90 pages in total!! *faints* Better get ideas planned!

Didn't it say something like it was around 175 pages? Meh, maybe I dreamed it.

I didn't get very far last year. I was too busy and got distracted. :/

This year, I think I know what my subject matter will be. Now just to come up with a very brief outline, and I should be set. I don't foresee anything other than work getting in the way, but, then again, I often do my best writing at work. :o ;)

Yeah, I think that's what it said.

I'm all in, I did it last year but was unsucessful in my previous (read: pitiful) attempts Though a new year comes with fresh new ideas >D

Fri Sep 30, 2005 3:56 am

:D It'd be fun to try this year...
I haven't been writing so much and this might be something great to get me back into swing... *flies off swing*

Yeah, I think that's what it said.

Where does it say that?

I just estimated because when I type a page, it's usually around 580-ish words.

I got an idea for my story, popped into my head before I was sleeping yesterday =).

*faints*

Only about 290-ish words per page though.

They probably are including paragraphs and very long words.

Yea. It's 286 w/p, which is quite reasonable. I think I may be able to do it, as long as I don't get any sleep that is :-p

IT STARTS TOMORROW!!! Only problem is it's midnight on the 2nd that it starts for me.
