Heh, the Welsh language and their way of naming it is a bit weird. They make their names up of lots of short words to describe something, Llanfair P.G (abbreviated for convienance.) means:

The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave.

So if we had huge names like that, it would be like:stmarychurchinholloofwhitehazeltreenearrapidwhirpoolbystysilioofredcave.

You can understand how its get long like that. The bottom part of the sign is for tourists so they can pronounce it.

Hmmm.

There seems to be a correlation between number of sheep and number of letters on signs. :O

There are no sheep in the picture anyway.

Actually there are. Its just because there are sheep everywhere in NZ (as you know), Cameras made here are specially designed to filter out all sheep from the photos.

For example, the following photo was taken with a non-filtered camera.

The same photo was taken with a filtered camera, which automatically removes the sheep.

Its almost like magic.

(Yes, that is a grass "skirt" I made to do my school Haka in. Of course, due to time constraints, it kinda became a grass loin cloth :P Of course, hardly any of the Kenyans knew what the Haka I was doing meant or anything, so it hardly matters :P)
