They were on holiday, the family, and as parents do, they need a bit of time away from their children in order to have a relationship of their own. I think its fair that they didn't want a complete stranger looking after their children, so they didn't take that option. Instead, they stayed close to home so that they could keep an eye on the children. Did the parents run off to some nightclub a few minutes away? Did they come home drunk every time they left their children alone? No. Not at all. They simply went to a restaurant seconds away from where they were staying, and had a clear view of the hotel. They checked on their children every 30 minutes, and weren't out for very long at all, just to eat something and go.
No one expects their child, who they believe is in the safety of a home or a hotel room, to be abducted or taken away. That family were a target, and Madeleine was taken purely by someone who had planned it. And I can honestly see why, shes a beautiful little girl. But I don't believe the parents made a mistake in what they did. Parents leave their children at home alone every day, simply because they believe that their children are sensible and safe and wont open the doors to any strangers.
However, this case just shows that even home isn't safe for children anymore. Gods know why she was taken from her hotel room, and her other siblings were left alone. I just hope shes found safely.

The information you have obtained-- I assume it was taken from the media?
We have no idea what the parents were really doing... The media likes to distort things to try and make you feel sorry for them.

However, I won't believe a word the media says, until the case is closed. When something like this reaches the media, you need to take everything they say with a pinch of salt.
Leaving a four year old alone, even in a hotel known for it's safety, is a stupid idea.

And do you honestly think after the case is closed, the media will still provide us with a truthful story of the event? Thats naive to believe, no story is ever 100% truthful when the media tells it. But saying that, the information I read was information I chose to believe, because it seems highly unlikely that these people weren't sensible parents who really did care for their children. I hardly doubt the media would change their story, just to make them look good and for us "to feel sorry for them" like you said, they're just telling the distressing story of a family who have lost a child they love.
I don't understand why you are so determined to make these parents seem like they're idiots and they don't know how to handle children. I honestly think its unfair for anyone without children to understand the pain these people are going through, and its unfair of you to sit here and criticizing their parenting while they're going through a horrible time in their life. Shame on you, really, shame on you.

It is, actually, a dictatorship of sorts. You'd be näive to think it wasn't.

People seem to like that word today.
It's a dictatorship of sorts, yes; but I'm sure we all have rights, and are able to express our opinions, right?
EG: I won't get lined up and shot if I said: "PinkPT, your game-guides need more work done to them".

That's a fascist regime. PPT is a dictatoship, where the administrators hold absolute power over all, especially since we do not elect them.

Not to mention, in a country other than your own. I can't say they deserved it or that they're morons for doing so, but the action itself was enormously stupid, and I'm not surprised something happened because of it.

You can't be serious? 2.5 Million? Now, as much as I do want this poor girl found, I do think that is a little lame.
I wish my life was worth £2,500,000.
£2,500,000 is around $5,000,000.
