Sorry to go against the flow of this thread, but I would like to point out that it should be kept in mind that none of you know Britney Spears. In my opinion you have no right to take what the media feeds you (while also remembering that the media feeds you to be a size zero and various other unhappy things) and use it to condemn someone else. Britney has made mistakes and this could be a good thing for both her and her children, but all I see on this thread is high school esque gossip. While it's definitely questionable on if Britney has been acting like a mature adult recently, I'd like the rest of you to take a look at yourselves.

It's alright to go against the flow and voice your own reasons and understanding of a situation. I have nothing against it and it's generally what i would be doing, but I know what I will and will not say, and when i feel strongly about the actions that someone is doing and how it affects their own children, I like to voice and opinion.

If someone listens to my opinion or not is their own choice, but when a person puts themselves before their own children, it really does a giant affect on how they grow up. I know this from personally experience since I haven't had the best of childhoods and I have no problem sharing this either.
If the media wants to voice their opinion on Britney Spears and how she lives her life, you can choose to listen to it or not. I only know very little about the matter and simply wanted to voice my own opinion on the matter simply because I do indeed have strong opinions about child care, substance abuse and in general everything that Ms. Spears has done.

Going against the flow of the thread is fine and all, but I believe you've crossed the line by morally judging people on this thread.

Britney Spears has entered the entertainment world knowing full well what she is getting into. When you agree to be a multi-million dollar superstar, you should expect people to talk about you either positively and negatively. There's a line you can cross with celebrities but if Britney is placing herself in the public with questionable behaviour, than one can expect we can discuss it publically as well. If I recall, she didn't divorce her husband, take part in ridiculous interviews, go out partying and shave her head all in the comfort of her home. Each one of these events were all done in front of cameras before they had gotten word of the incident.

I'm not implying everyone should bash her, but I don't appreciate you assuming the worst of us because we're discussing a current issue.

Huuuuuuuuh? Bangel only likened the content of this thread as 'high school esque gossip' (Quite right) and that she [Bangel] would like the users of this forum to take a look at theirselves. I mean, come on, Ammer, 'morally judging people', aren't you jumping the gun, just a bit?

I'm quite sure, It is, as a moderator of this board, Bangel's right to post her feelings in a calm and succinct manner, and that if she did cross any moral boundaries, it was a genuine mistake and no harm was meant by it.

I did take a look at myself, and I realized that I have never shaved my head, have never been drunk, have never been drunk driving, have never driven with a baby on my lap in the front seat, have never left my kids behind while I went partying with Paris Hilton, have never married some guy and then annulled the marriage later that day, have never been to rehab, and have never failed out of rehab.

This isn't high school-esque gossip, it's public information we know about someone, and it's very worrisome that her children were almost put in her care. She needs to turn things around NOW or she'll go the way of Anna Nicole and Marilyn Monroe.

I'm glad you can sleep at night knowing you're more sagacious than other people.

I disagree
she made her first TV apperance at the age of 3 and was in the Mickey Mouse club at the age of 8 and preforming in off-broadway productions.
I think she was pushed into the entertainment world by her own parents.

Perhaps, but she could've left show business a long time ago. She chooses to remain a celebrity, even though she's waned in popularity. If she had decided to quit the business or even just make her life more private, a few paparazzi-types would've chased her sometimes, but she wouldn't have been on the front of the tabloids all the time.
The media doesn't just feed us info on Britney. Britney feeds the media.

Bangel wrote:(while also remembering that the media feeds you to be a size zero and various other unhappy things)

I had a very long rant about how being a size zero shouldn't be automatically considered an "unhappy thing," but then I got frustrated because I knew I'd get zero sympathy for my position.

Enough.

The personal attacks and 'moral high horse' acts stop now.

This thread is to discuss a recent event in Britney Spear's life, and I suggest we all get back to that.

Setekh thank you for making me laugh while I was crying. Its been a very bad day for me and I needed a good laugh.

anyway it looks like the wiggy wonder of the hollywood world is going to be undergoing random drug screening before she gets her kids back, which is a common practice for people who have had their kids taken away for reckless social behavior (to put it nicely).

She seems like she actually has a very fair judge who's really in it for the sake of the kids, which is good. They're only 1 and 2. They dont deserve this drama. Just let kids be kids and keep their batty parents under control!

In my opinion, everyone in Hollywood should go under random drug screening. The amount these stars are popping pills is ridiculous!

All of that is fine and dandy and everything, but you have to remember that this is the only lifestyle she's ever known. She grew up in front of a camera and microphone. Just walking away from everything you were raised with and grew up around is not as easy as it sounds on paper.

And yet so many other celebrities manage to do so quite easily.
