Now can anyone guess what this is? :P

Image

Rather adorable I think :D

Also, an almiqui (below). They were thought to be extinct, but this little fella was discovered a while ago in Cuba.

Hehe, yup, it's a budgie :D His name is Whipper and he lives in New Zealand. Declared a mutant by the vet. The poor little thing got rejected by his mother, but was well taken care of by humans instead. In addition to the strange feather formation he also makes strange sounds and chirps.

*jaw drops at mutant budgie*
Dude... I own budgies... I thought that thing was a pigeon! (theres some really ugly pigeons out there)...
But just...

Freaky.

It's hairless! I guess that'd explain "the sphinx was so cute, I had to shave it"...

The parakeet has an extremely rare disorder fittingly called "featherduster." I think it looks cutey. :)

*snickers* It's actually called "featherduster"? Awww. Poor thing. *gives it a hug* And *points up a bit* that almiqui is pretty cute. It reminds me of something from the Looney Tune's Tazmanian Devil cartoon for some reason.

I think it's eyes are scaringly small though :P

And while being at it, as you mentioned the Tasmanian Devil, here's a pic of one!

Image

The reason why most of them have their mouths open on images you see of them is because they scream and grunt, a lot.

*pokes it* It's adorable! I saw that Crocodile Hunter Guy show these little guys before. They do make some awfully strange sounds, and they're pretty nuts. On with the adorable, yet strange Austallian critters...

Image

That's a bandicoot. Yes, as in Crash Bandicoot. Heh, they really don't look alike. I thought he was super-adorable. Gotta love the nose.

I think that thing is awsome, although its species isn't extinct, I'm sure it will be soon if that is the only one that has been found. I feel sorry for animals like that :(
