But thats the thing, he was a people person. If he's still awake (i'm not sure if he is) he could easily command for the square to be cleared of people.
I'm not sure how much he is suffering, from what i've heard on TV when he was still concious he was praying quietly and asking the people in the square to pray with him. Not everyone wants to be alone in death, and for someone whose spent their whole life working with people... why be left alone now?

I didn't really mean it like that. I meant the fact that it's all over the news. People are saying this and saying that and just won't leave him be. I know he's the pope and everything but I'm sure that the press and reporters and the like are all around him. He should just have those close around him, not reporters.

The press aren't anywhere in his quarters. They're not allowed in. It's a strictly closed environment. The press only know what the Vatican tells them right now, and up until that time they can only speculate, which is what they've been doing.
