Just to add to this- muscle is denser than fat, which is why you can be slim and built and way more than someone who is a bit flabby.


It's also why track stars and basketball players should never be allowed to swim: No fat means no flotation.

I used to float exactly the same way a bowling ball does. Now I have a spare tire (only a bicycle tire, mind you), and so my hips float but the rest of me sinks. I still drown easily, I just look like a moron doing it.

I started a food diary. Find out how many calories you're supposed to be taking in and then subtract 500. For a woman my age, weight, and activity level, I was supposed to be eating around 1800 calories a day. To lose weight I should be eating 13-1400 calories a day. Combine this with exercise and you'll be losing weight.

Eggs are good protein too.
