If it's called Milwaukee's anything, anything "Light/Lite," or goes by an abbrieviation (MGD for Miller Genuine Draft, PBR for Pabst Blue Ribbon) then it's not worth its weight in dust. I should note that up to a point, beer definitely increases in quality as it increases in price. And beer should definitely be checked for a brewing date - if it's a month old or older, just pour it out.

My dad has a thing against American beer. Back when he would drink a beer a day, he'd only buy Heinekin. I know he likes Chinese beer the most, but one can't always find Qing Dao at the supermarket.

i'm quite above legal age, and my opinion of drinking hasn't changed much at all. as a matter of fact, the peer pressure is sometimes higher when you are over 21. people always asking you out to drink, or not wanting to go places that don't serve alcohol, or refusing to spend an evening without "just a glass of wine" or "only a few beers." when you no longer have the reason of "it's illegal" to hold you up, people love to think that you're being holier-than-thou just because you abstain. it's irritating and painful.

Not everybodys opinion will change, just alot. It happens.

Those people who are pressuring you, or who think you're being 'holier'than'thou' sound like the people I know now who USED to be those kids who'd get smashed enough to forget their names. Anybody who thinks you're being holier-than-thou because of it, obviously has some sort of confliction with alcohol, that they get hypersensitive to those who don't want to drink. Does that make sense?

I agree on many points though, I have friends who believe the only way to have a good night out, IS to drink, a view I just can't share.

As of now I currently do neither except drink my toasting champaigne at weddings and other special occasions.

However I will be 21 soon....once that happens I'll probably start drinking socially and at the family parties. But not excessively and not every day.

I don't smoke. Never have and I never will. The smoke from cigarettes gave me a chest infection which lasted for a whole year. This was just for sitting in a smoky pub.

I drink very occasionally but I wouldn't exactly class myself a drinker. I'll have a drop of bailey's in my coffee and maybe an odd drink on occasion, that's it. My friends encouraged me to try some drinks. I only had a few and got so drunk as I hadn't eaten all day.

American beer is by nature craptacular.

So are alcopops. However, alcopops taste nice til you get about halfway through the bottle, when they start to taste like disinfectant. Bad beer tastes bad all the way through. Blue WKD is one of the ultimate charv drinks, tastes like blue raspberry so you can get wasted pretty easily. If you're an idiot.

I quite like cider, but a lot of my friends won't touch it because of experiences with it getting mashed.

I'm not all that fond of wine. Don't like sweet wine at all, and others can burn my throat a bit. The only time I was ever drunk was off wine, and all I can say is, although I shouldn't have drunk so much (about a bottle) if I hadn't, my friend Kim would've drank twice as much and probably have ended up in hospital. Booya.

Vodka I like, Rum not so much (Bacardi Breezers, you are rank). Not really fond of that many cocktails either.

And whisky is evil and disgusting. My mate drank a bottle of Jack Daniel's in about 10 minutes, I'm surprised he didn't end up hospitalised, a very very stupid thing to do. Must have hollow legs.

Gah, that it is.
I've never been one for alcohol, but I have had it before. I don't mind having a random fruity drink every so often, although, I am always in the company of my parents when I do so. {I'm 20. ;P} I doubt I'll drink much when I am 21, though. I certainly won't be drunk anytime soon.
I do, however, smoke on a regular basis.

The best whisky is great though. Cheap whisky is worse than cyanide.... Urgh.

I like alchopops as I have a sweet tooth. However, an entire night of drinking blue WKD doesn't half make you feel sick.

Cocktails (if they are not mixing spirits) are fantastic and a nice wine with a good meal really compliments it.

I sound like a binger but believe me, I don't binge. I don't drunk to get drunk, I drink because it tastes nice. Although beer = ick.

My advice is, eat before you drink and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT MIX SPIRITS. And absynth..... just don't okay? *shudder*

My father's second-best advice:
Beer before liquor, never sicker; Liquor before beer, in the clear

Mixing some liquors isn't bad. After all, without doing that, we'd never have Long Island Iced Teas. But never drink hard alcohol after having beer or cider - you will wish you were dead.

WKD is awful stuff though.
I was drinking Blue WKD at my mate's party (not a big waster type party, a small birthday party but his rents had got booze in) because I'm not fond of cheap buy-it-by-the-gallon cider and I didn't like the beer we had in.

Never liked any whisky.

While this is a drinking and smoking topic, don't mix copious amounts of alcohol and weed. Some people are alright with it, some people are not. A certain friend of mine ended up with emphasised drunkness, peeing outside (someone later slipped in it and didn't know what it was...) and puking rather spectacularly outside the post office, which then froze overnight into pink ice :)

Hmm.. Smoking is bad, drinking is bad.
However, here's my confession, of 2/4 bad things I do...
1) Smoking. My day consists of about 3+ packs.
2) Alcohol... Never other than parties, and at parties the meaning is alcohol.

I've gone through a lot of tough times.

And it's bad, I know, but when I'm REALLY nervous, or emotionally unstable, I smoke. Not a lot, but it calms me down. I don't think I should, and I don't usually do it, but yeah.. I have before.

Drinking... My family gets addicted to the drink very easily, so I try to stay away. And drinking by yourself is losery.

All in all, I try to stay away, being controlled by a substance smurf me off, but I'm not saying I totally stay away.

Don't smoke and probably never will. I drink alcohol sometimes, but not enough to say I drink regularly.

Bah XD my friend came over and brought wine. W00T!

Thu Feb 10, 2005 2:13 am

I can't stand the smell of cigg smoke.

As for drinking, I've seen what alchohol does to my family, that alone makes me never want to drink. Plus I want to remember any crazy wacky insane things I do.
