Gosts: yes, I've seen one.
It was about 10 o'clock at night and I had just been to the bathroom, just out side our bathroom to the right theres some stairs with a sharp turn in them. The gost was running up the stairs, he was a youngs boy and pale all over but his hair was black and he looked just like my younger brother.
Recanation: Yes, I get the feeling sometimes with such force that I was a woman who died of the plage.
I think that we stay on Earth in a new body each time we die untill we complete what our souls were set out to do.

paralasis would be great fun compared to some of the things ive woken up to, a couple of times ive woken up, (or been startled from day dreaming) and hear a loud whistling in my ear, after about five minutes of this getting louder and louder, i go BLIND for about ten minutes.

Reading stuff about Ouiji boards stirred something in the back of my mind.
Is there a story about a ouiji board, and a house on fire, and a door with a big red X on the back, that anyone knows of? I'm going to try to remember this, but it doesn't come to mind right now..

I think some people are getting confused, let me go into further detail about what an old hag attack feels like.
You wake suddenly from a deep sleep, unable to breath, unable to move, unable to open your eyes, with the feeling that there is an intense weight on top of your chest pressing you down.
My brother has had far more intense ones than I. He's heard heavy breathing above him, and sounds. He even managed to open his eyes once and saw the shadow of something above him.
I also have sleep apnea, and am able to differentiate between the two. When my apnea wakes me up, I'm on my back, I can't breath, but I can open my eyes and move. I don't start breathing until I get off of my back, by either sitting up or rolling over. That has nothing to do with the supernatural, it's simply a flaw in my anatomy causing my airway to collapse when I sleep on my back.

Reincarnation? Now we're on to that? Well,no. I dont believe that. I believe we are given one life,one body,one chance to live the best life possible. I believe life on earth is somewhat of a test,actually. Test of Faith. If we believe in God we'll go to heaven,not be reincarnated. But those are my beliefs.
I've been to Gettysburg,by the way. Counless times since I was a child. No ghosts. Ever.
Rbpnmn,I'm gonna sound like your momma,but...I'm proud of you. I really am. I am very glad you said what you did,because I wanted to and didnt have the guts to. I have a whole new respect for you. (Not saying I didnt think you were a cool dude before.

The pub I work in is really old, it's one of the original buildings in our town.
It used to be the town court house. The cellar still has the holding cells.
Behind the holding cells is a staircase which is now bricked off half-way up, but it used to lead to the outside of our main church. That's where people were taken to be executed.
I have seen a ghost in the cellar and so have some of the other staff. We call him smokey as he is the shape of a person but he looks like he's made of brown smoke. Although I'm petrified of smokey he doesn't do any harm he is just stood in this one spot sometimes he doesn't move anywhere.
There are other ghosts in the pub that move things around. Our gas pumps completley switch off by themselves and I don't know if anyone here knows about gas for beer but you don't just flip a switch on and off you actually have to turn a large handle. I'm not strong enough to turn them without a spanner thingy we have.
You also hear people walking around upstairs when there is nobody there.
There are lots of tunnels running underneath my town. They have all been bricked up as they are unsafe. Henry VIII used to stay here with Anne of Cleves and he had some of them built incase he needed to escape. Supposedly there is one somewhere that is big enough for his soldiers to ride through on horseback.

Wow, seems like everyone's seen a ghost. I hope I'll never get to see one. Really.
On the other hand (sorry about off topic), I should really read this in the daytime instead of 11pm-12am at night. Now I have a feeling that something's around me.
I think it's because of the things I hear from other people about ghosts and etc. (not from this board. ok, maybe some.) I've became more afraid of the dark and I was never afraid of the dark.

Well, I'm not really sure... It's possible I guess...
I own a Quija board, but it's only worked once for me... As I was using it my cat freaked out and climbed our screen door which caused it to fall down...

Hmm... this may be a bit of a weird question, but it's been bugging me even since I recalled that ghost I saw...
Of course, when I saw her I was too afraid to even think about this, but...
Assuming you could control your fear to do either of these options, if a ghost held out it's hand for you as if wanting you to come with him or her, should/would you follow them?

followed my 'dog' into the kitchen but somehow i doubt it was anykind of "be one witht he universe" gig.
as for the resident wraith..hell no, dont care what im missing out on im never going near a wraith.

Ehm... this may be a bit stupidish sounding, but how can you tell the difference between a ghost and a wraith? I've heard that some wraiths appear as floating black smoke blobs, but then again, I would assume they could be in person/ animal shapes also.

Ghosts can normaly form quite a few shapes, they can appear as orbs, or black shadows, mists, and sometimes even a hman form. No-oe knows what happnes to you after you die....And no-one is ever going to really find out, they will, but other people won't fid out untill they dies, and so on and so on.
Fear, can sometimes make you, stand still, and in bad cases make you lose your mind, it has happned. Because of parraormal things, for someone who had never belived in it, it can be quite shocking, and if you are at an old age, you are likley to have a heart attack, it has been proven. If you are young, you might just get really scared, at a toddler age, you will probably think nothing of it. Controlling your fear is a big acheivment, not many people can do that. Normaly, in the legends and myths about ghosts, they say they are trickly little things, but their not, yes some of them are not to be trusted, but their are what people call 'good ghosts'. Take my mums experience:Their was what me and my sisters called the black lady, she used to walk around the downstaris of our house at night, we were all petrified of her, and then their was the witelady, who roamed the upstairs. One night she came into my room and held my hand. She told me she was looking after me, and that she would come back for me, I never saw her or the black lady again.
But still, how can all this be provn, with all the tecnology and lies nowadays, it is birtuly impossible!
