The Sims Online

Mon May 31, 2004 2:46 am

Eh, I would like to know if there's any people out there playing this, because I'm thinking of buying it. I've heard good things and bad things, of course. I cant choose if I should buy it or not. Star Wars Galaxies is a bit too expensive for me, and I dont know that many other choices.

So, guide me, oh holy master... Erm, forget about that. So, if anyone is playing it or has played it, could you tell about the community and etc. Is this game any good?

I keep getting stuck buying these Sims expansion packs and never playing them, and while The Sims Online isn't an expansion pack, per se, I think it really is. I, personally, am not going to buy it. Unless it's $1.00.

As far as I have heard The Sims Online is not that great. It's just like playing the regular Sims game, except that there is more pressure to earn a lot of money. I've also heard that it takes quite a bit of time to do so.
I'd much rather save my Sims money for The Sims 2. ;D

I debated over whether or not to purchase it, but decided not to. I own a couple of the expansion packs to the original Sims, but I don't play it much anymore - I'd end up doing the same with The Sims Online.

Hmm...I've heard a tiny bit about The Sims 2 - what can we expect to be completely new in it?

Okaly dokely, in the Sims 2 the main feature is that instead of just nuturing one eternal sim (as long as they dont burn/drown/starve), you get to follow their growth Baby-Toddler-Child-Teen-Adult-Old Fogey and have them reproduce a family line.

Sooo... If I shouldnt buy TSO, what should I? I've heard Star Wars Galaxies is pretty good, but the graphics seem too good for my computer. I've heard about Ultima Online, but I dont quite like that. Everquest is just a chat made to look like a rpg for me... Runescape seems have slowen up a bit after that graphics update. I dont mean that it lags, but it seems that it takes more time to do stuff. Graal Online got boring for me very fast.
I dont get bored that easily in The Sims... Yeah, I got bored of it once, after playing it for three months without playing anything else. But that was also when my comp was messing up all the games, and was lagging... But, I dunno. I dont think that I get bored of The Sims that easily.
I've heard that TSO has some pretty good roleplayers too. I'm going to roleplay there, if I get the game...
Any suggestions of other games?

Edit: (And oh, not FFXI. I've heard it takes very very VERY much time to build your character in it. And, eh, it may have too good graphics for me... Or so I've heard.)

The only online game {RPG/MMORPG related} that I like right now is Lineage II. It has a fairly bad reputation, though. The customer service is terrible and you can't expect anything new about it to be different from the previous Korean release. I enjoy it for some reason, though.
I don't think it's for everyone, though. The characters are very simple. It doesn't take much to develop them. They kill and level. I think the game itself it very nice, graphic wise. You can set it for very detailed to barely any detail.
I found it to be slightly addictive. My mother blames it for my poor marks in Legal Research.

Nah. Wouldn't get it. Mind you, if you can find it, a good-condition, used copy of Final Fantasy VII is always nice. In fact, I've been looking for one myself.

I've played Final Fantasy VII through too many times... It gets boring for me, even that the plot is good. And, eh... Actually I've done that with most of the Final Fantasy games, except that I haven't played FF2 yet. I think I'm getting TSO. I've got a friend who plays it, and he says that it might get boring at sometimes, but he keeps playing because of the friends... He has played for seven months, I think. And I can always wait for updates... Oh, yeah. EA doesnt do updates that quickly...

After TSO, I may buy Star Wars Galaxies. If it even works with my computer...

The Sims Online...I have it, but never played it. You have to enter credit card number and mummy doesn't like that -___-" but oh well, no time to play...and mummy wont buy me sims 2 or let us buy it -___- which sucks even more. but i would really recommend sims 2 cuz it's cool =D at least the marriage scenes are longer and they dont just magically have a cradle, you can see the sims being pregnant ^^ yeps, so in conclusion, it's cool =D

Ooooo! Get Ragnarok Online! That game is fun! I think it's only about four dollars a month, and if you don't wanna pay, just play on a free server! Not that I do... *shifty eyes*
