PSP Released!!! :)

Fri Mar 25, 2005 5:41 pm

I am not buying a psp since I do not have enough money to at the time and my parents won't either. But I went to Best Buy the day it came out and played one of the PSP on display that you could play on. It is 288888% better than Nintendo DS. It has better games and can hold music. The only bad part of this system is the price. SIGH! If only I were rich.

PSP is evil. And you need BIG, EXPENSIVE memory sticks if you want t hold a decent amount of songs. And some GREAT DS games are coming out this year.
Polarium April 18
Puyo POP FEVER April 26
Meteos April
Need for Speed Underground 2 (custom decals!)

TRIFORCE^^^^^

Touch! Kirby June 13 (IT ROCKS!)

Lost in Blue August (This game looks REALLY promising)
GoldenEye: Rogue Agent Q2 (Who knows? It could be good! I know the console version where kinda crummy)
Zoo Tycoon Q3
Bomberman DS Q3
Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour Q3

Snowboard Kids DS Q4
Viewtiful Joe DS Q4
Dynasty Warriors Q4
Castlevania DS Q4

All the following are TBA 2005
Advance Wars DS
Animal Crossing DS
Another Code (working title)
Mario Kart DS
Metroid Pinball (working title)
Metroid Prime Hunters
Nintendogs
Super Mario Bros.
Super Princess Peach
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

But hey, this topic isn't about DS ;)

Honestly though, I would like to get a PSP (I have enough $$$) but the price of games drives me away. A lot of them are going to be $50 and the thing I have always loved about my GBA is that the games are only $30. That is why I have more GBA games than GC and PS2 games combined. *sigh* I hope the PSP doesn't win for three reasons.

1. Nintendo rocks and Sony sucks
2. I don't want $50 handheld games to become the norm.
3. I don't want handhelds to be filled with nothing but crummy ports of their console counterparts. *cough*nflstreet2unleashed*cough* And yes,
I know that the GBA was port city but I only owned two ports for it.

I'd love a PSP but it costs a mint and I love my DS :)

LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS, IT'S A WASTE. PSP is wonderful, it's your entertainment center away from home, only dumb gamers would settle for secondary graphics. Also all those games are somewhat kiddy, and are building on charictors from what the early 90'S. Also Sony can't suck, it's ruling the industry man. Plus there are expensive memory sticks because they vary in size so you can put music and video and such on them. Plus the list for PSP games has a bigger list then when DS came out man.

The graphics for Nintendo DS make my eyes hurt after 10 minutes and the touch screen breaks to easily so I will not buy one. Maybe the Easter BUnny will bring me a PSP, or Santa... oh wait he is bringing me X-Box Next.

I WANT PSP

It looks pretty good but I'm going to stick with a DS.

Haha, that's was great.

I'd rather get PSP, because the DS games just don't look great at all (not graphics-wise, concept-wise). They've run out of "good" ideas and instead are trying to manipulate fans' minds with horrible concepts. Yes, let's make a lot of games with well-known characters that basically only utilize the touchpad feature... no, how about we don't. -_- The only thing that interests me on the DS is Wario Ware, Castlevania (which doesn't look so hot either), and a few of those on rbpnmn's list. But I'm not letting a few, possibly okay games, buy me a system. But on the other hand, I'm not paying that much money for a freaking handheld system, I won't even pay the DS's amount. I'll save my money for a console, they look more promising than any handheld.

I guess I am a dumb gamer. Do you know what the PS2 has? Secondary graphics. Do you know that the Playstation had? Secondary graphics. Do you know what the gameboy had? Secondary graphics. And yet all of those systems demolished the competition. The DS isn't about providing you with a console in your hand. It is about providing a new way to play games. I don't care if my games have afwul graphics as long as they provide a fun experience. And that is why I think that Megaman Anniversary Collection is one of the greatest games ever.
The DS has a lot better graphics that people think too. Examples?

And those last two mario kart pics are from last MAY! I can't imagine what they have been doing with the graphics since them.

And since when is having a franchise created in the early 90's bad? The best franchises were created in the late 80's to the early 90's. Anyone who things that those game suck is the definition of a dumb gamer. And mario has been around since around 1980. Maybe earlier.

And only people who are insecure with their masculinity won't play a game because it is kiddy. "OMG!!!111 OMG!!!111 ThErE R nO BoObies Or blOod iN dat game!111 It MuSt Be AwFuL!!!1111"
GIMMEE A BREAK!

And Nintendo will be releasing something called the Play-yan in the US sometime later this year. With the play-yan, you will be able to watch movies, listen to MP3s, and look at pics. So there goes that argument.

And in my opinion, Sony does suck. And how does the fact that they are in 1st place in consoles have anything to do with how much they suck? And did you know that Sony is $60 Billion Dollars in debt? Look it up on bloomberg.

While it is true that the PSP does (or will soon have) more games out than DS, the DS has about 200 games announced while PSP has about 175.

I hate to say it but I really need to get this out of my system.

PWNED!!!11111

Geez, I have been spending too much time on gamefaqs.

P.S. I have had my DS since it came out and I don't have a scratch yet. And store displays have nothing to do with how durable a system is. Little kids assault those things.

P.P.S. Man, I just read over that and I said "and" wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too many times.

Ah, but the PSP only has about a 2-3 hour battery life. And so what if it has better graphics? The Nintendo DS has more innovative games. And lots of good games are coming out for it. It's just rpbnmn left quite a few off the list. And graphics don't mean everything. The Gamecube and Xbox actually have superior graphics to the PS2, yet people still buy the PS2. So, you see, the PS2 has "secondary graphics", so you're saying that every single person with PS2 is a dumb gamer. Way to go!

EDIT: Argh! Beaten to it by the other Nintendo Fanboy of the forums. Oh well.

I really want a PSP, it's just, the price. Everything else about it is awesome. On Reviews on the Run, the DS got 7.5/10, while the PSP got 9.5/10, and 9.0/10. I really like the launch titles for the system too, Wipeout Pure .*drools*

I just don't like the DS, My friend has it, and I don't really like it, and the touch screen is more like a... like a gimmick.

Yep, though in some cases, it's pretty cool. But in all of the cases I've seen and played with so far, they're only using the touchscreen a fraction of it's actual potential. Truthfully, while there are games like Yoshi Touch-and-Go (or whatever the heck it's called), which utilize the touch screen, I think so far, that Wario Ware has actually performed this most fluidly.
