GameFaqs Character Contest 2006

I am surprised that is there isn't a topic about it and even more surprised that no-one created a topic about last year's one. The Character contest kicked off 5 days ago. If you hadn't signed up then it unfortunately its too late to do so.

If you've never heard of it, its at GameFaqs.com, vote on the poll, then click "View Full Bracket" (if you haven't done it before). Basically each day, two video game characters are pitted against each other and put into a poll where visiters vote for which they like better (if anyone tell you its for which character IS better, then they are lying). The character that wins goes to the next round against another opponent. Basically a clash of the fanpeople.

So I guess the first question is, who do you think is going to win it all and how do you think the first round is going to go?

This year's Character contest has 8 divisions consisting of 8 characters split into 2 groups of 4 division. The first four divisions consists of all female characters, likewise the the final four divisons consists of all male characters. (In bold is who has won so far)

Note: Mario, Link, Sephiroth, and Cloud are in a seperate bracket. They, along with the M and F winners of this bracket will compete later on.
They'll all battle it out at once, with the character receiving the least votes being eliminated each day until only one remains.

The Triforce Division is mixed up with the Aeon Division a bit. (I was like "Where's Zelda!?".)

Anyway, I'm kind of mad because I KNOW I didn't conciously choose Celes over The Boss, Sub-Zero over Master Chief, or Riku over Yoshi (and truthfully, I would have chosen Leon Kennedy over Bowser, but it's a Tossup match anyway, so it doesn't really matter). >_> I think I hit the scroll wheel on my mouse when the menus were selected and never double-checked it. Oh well, those will have to play on luck (though I suppose Riku has a chance of beating Yoshi.)

And yes, Link is going to win it all (like usual). The Zelda fanboys are even worse than the FF fanboys over there. However, I had trouble deciding if Samus or Snake was going to win the actual contest. First I had Samus on there and then changed it to Snake at the last second. People say Snake isn't getting past Megaman or Crono, but the two of them have been losing popularity and votes over the years, and Snake's only moving up. Then again, most people that would vote for Zero (and Axel, if that's the Megaman one they're talking about) would vote for Megaman too, but truthfully, Megaman hasn't had any good games in a long time.

I hated her... lol... she was a bit of a tart... weeeel actually.. *thinks about FFIV girls...* Nvm she wasn't a tart. She doesn't even start to describe the word...
