Earthbound 2/Mother 3

Sat Jul 17, 2004 1:21 am

Many of you may know of the awesomeness of a certain SNES game called Earthbound. It pushed the limits of what RPG's could be. And many of you may also know about Earthbound 2, also known as Mother 3 in Japan (Earthbound was known as Mother 2 in Japan). It was a game intended for the N64, but since it was planning on useing the 64DD, it was crapped. Now it is being released in Japan for the GBA, which means it has the possibility of reaching U.S., Canda and other countries' soils. Which is where PK Call'n 2 comes in. It is a week long event to get Nintendo to recognize that we want Earthbound 2. Already, it seems like it's quite a success, because I've called three times to Nintendo so far, and every line has been busy. This strategy has also worked in the past with other games, and we hope it will work again. Check out more info at: http://starmen.net/merchandise/pkcalln2/

Good luck!

Ehehe, I really hope it comes out in the US, I love'ed Earthbound. I've wanted to play the other versions but never could because they're only over seas, are there any other versions in the US? If so I can't find any, lol. This would be so awesome if it did come out over here! :)

Dang, I was hoping for a GC release rather than a GBA release... Oh well, maybe eventually another will be put onto the next Nintendo system...

Yeah, I actually expected it to be on the GC,and I was actually going to post that it was coming out on the GC, but then I saw the GBA thing. Very weird, but I could get my Earthbound on the go, so it's cool! Plus, I only own a PS2, and it would be a lot easier/beneficial to buy a GBA than a GC.

Oh, and technically Phantom, one could find a ROM file of Earthbound 0/Mother and an NES emulator... but technically, since that's illegal, no one actually talks about where to get them on the internet. Sorry.

If Ness and his gang come to America this console generation, it would either appear on the GBA, the GC, or most interesting, the DS.

There was actually one more Earthbound game, Earthbound Zero for the NES. This prequel's flight to America was cancelled, too.

I'd say its most likely GBA, although it might not reach America at all and you'll have to play the game on an emulator with crappy translations. Even if it gets translated, I hope http://www.dejap.com does it. :)

True, but they're very busy with all sorts of other stuff, and what with Tomato leaving and all, they're short on translators, I do believe.
