fighting games....

Sat Jan 06, 2007 8:17 am

i LOVE fighting games
they are my favourite type of games, theres nothing better than memorizing command lists of new characters, train with them, master them, getting to know how to combo, and having my own kind of fighting style. then to start with a new character that i will soon be in love with to use.

anyone else here with me?
what are your favourte fighting games?

mine are:
Soul Calibur
The King of Fighters
Samurai Spirits

good day to you

I like fighting games too, but the only one i actually got addicted to is Soul Calibue 3 because of its wii strategy bit. and speaking of wii, if you wanna feel the experience, consider playing Wii SPorts. Why? 2 words: Boxing.

Super Smash Brothers Melee is the only fighting game I play.. hehe. :3

Soul Calibur II (PS2 Version most of all, because I haven't played the GC version and the XBox version was odd)
Soul Calibur III
Mortal Kombat II (yeah, the old-school. :P)
Mortal Kombat III
Bloody Roar II (Before all of them started becoming beta-like pieces of junk. x_x)
Super Smash Brothers: Melee
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Marvel vs. Capcom 2

I wish SC III could have been online (though it would have been crap online because of the precise frames at which moves should be calculated). I need someone to fight against my Xianghua. No one will play against me anymore. >_>

ooh i forgot to add supersmash bros on the list.
and i am a soul calibur addict too, andi all my friends suck at it, because they dont have the game....my favourite character to use is Taki and Setsuka. Xianghua is really powerful and easy to use though, and cheap at times too.

She has some Computer-Abusable moves (which I've only ever used on computers when I'm doing tournment and getting my butt kicked), but a human can easily surpass any of those moves. She's a good poker, and not so great with an all-out, in-your-face, plan. The only thing that annoys my friend are the juggles you can do that nearly destroy your opponent in a single go... it's too bad he doesn't know you can press up or down while in a juggle to move left or right, so it's really not that bad. x)

She has rather crappy attack, though, when compared to most of the other players. If they hadn't nerfed Talim so much, I would have kept playing as her, not now she's sort of meh-ish. (though I still use Cassandra and Sophitia)

He just doesn't have the patience to learn a character, so he usually ends up button-mashing or something rather (or using the same move over and over again, which is obviously easy to block, unless they get lucky with the button-mashing).

:P I have Soul Calibur II and III. I played II a lot more than III, because I didn't actually know we had III. My favourite characters are Taki and Mitsurugi, or whatever. I also like Sophitia and Cassandra. Oh, and Ivy. I'm not that great at them now, but I was pretty good at II when I used to play it a lot. I've completed both modes of the Weapon Master mode, but that's not really too hard, anyway. I also used to enjoy Tekken III, but that was a long time ago, heh.

WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2007 (PS2)
WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2006 (PS2)
WWE Smackdown! vs Raw (PS2)
WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain (PS2)
WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth (yes that right that is the game's name and no I'm not telling you rudely to be quiet) (PS2)
WWF SmackDown! Just Bring It (PS2)
Legends Of Wrestling (PS2)
WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role (PS)
WWF SmackDown! (PS)
WWF Warzone (PS)

Fire Pro Wrestling D (DC) (Import title)
WWF Royal Rumble (Genesis)
WWF Super Wrestlemania (Genesis)
WWF Raw Is War (Genesis)
WWF Steel Cage Challenge (GG)

For the record Super WrestleMania is a completely different game to WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game.

WrestleMania: The Arcade Game is the one where Undertaker actually could fire ghosts at you and the only wrestling game where you can hit people with literal tombstones. (I wish I knew why some people confuse Super WrestleMania with WrestleMania: The Arcade Game when they are nothing alike.)

I have played Super WrestleMania (Genesis version, the game came out on the Genesis and the SNES only) and I never ever played those two Mortal Kombat ripoffs games that are WrestleMania: The Arcade Game and WWF In Your House due to the fact that when I play wrestling games I prefer to play wrestling games that have actually have pro wrestling in them.

Overall: Super Smash Brothers Melee is my favorite Non Wrestling Fighting Game whereas WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain is my favorite Wrestling Fighting game.

I like arcade style fighting games the best, my favourite would have to be the Street Fighter Alpha series and the VS. series (Marvel vs Capcom, etc.)

Although I like to play 3d Fighting games from time to time, too. My favourites there are Tekken, DoA and Soul Calibur

If you don't already know, the MUGEN engine combines characters from basically every 2d fighting game and allows them to fight. and there are characters that are unique and just random stuff, like PINGU!
it's awesome. more info can be found here: http://randomselect.i-xcell.com/
