Classic NES Series

Wed Jul 21, 2004 3:09 am

What do you think of having the retro style games on the GBA?

I think that some of the games are fun. But it's muck easier and cheaper to get the games on on the NES. The NES is about $30 to $50 and the game are about 10 to 20 dollars compare to the $20 GBA game. Legends of Zelda has to be the most coolest classic game ever! I've spend hours fighting bad guys and killing bosses and stuff. I realy like it.

Yes but the NES isnt very portable! :D

I think putting it on the GBA is just messing with the nostalgia that the original games have. Not only that, but you can buy most of the games for 1 or 2 dollars and there are people out there paying much more for the same thing, only portable. Not only that, but I'm sure scrunching all of that stuff onto a little screen has to take away some of the original quality. I'll stick with the NES any day.

Yeah, but it beats buying the E-Reader/Cards or downloading the games from Animal Crossing.

I think it's a good idea for those who haven't experienced the games and don't want to buy an NES and hunt for games, but of those games, I already own all of the ones I like, so I wouldn't pay for them again, when I can just bust out my NES whenever I get the urge.

There are many people who do not have an NES and may never have played these games.
The Legend of Zelda can already be played by those with the Collector's Edition and may not be necessary unless you don't own it.
Super Mario Bros. was re-released on the SNES and the Game Boy Colour so people may still have it.
I think Donkey Kong is available on an E-Reader Card

But for newer gamers who haven't played them and don't have an E-Reader or the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition they can be good.

only NES games i would want on GBA list:

1. SMB 3 (must have)
2. Zelda (the first 1)
3. All-Star Baseball

To make my NES work, I have to...

Reset
Turn on and off
Reset
Reset
Reset
Blow into it
Reset
Hit it a few times

And then finally it starts up. But then there's the risk of it freezing.

So if you have a crappy dying NES like me, you should get the games for GBA. :D

SMB3 has already been rereleased on GBA as part of the Super Mario Advance series. I doubt they'd do it again.
Zelda is one of them so there's no problem there. Is there?

LOL I used to have one like that.
I remember when I was four I put a glass of juice beside mine and a day later the glass was knocked over and sticky stuff was all over it. And I used to have about 40 games too(I got most free from my mom's friend)but most were crappy.

As far as I know, they don't have Balloon Fight. And I won't touch them until I can pop some balloons.

lol Mine works exactly like that, but usually somewhere in that process I have to actually stick my fingers in the system while it's turned on and move the game around until the screen turns a different color than grey.

Some of the games are nice to have on GBA... I love the fact that I can take Zelda with me while I'm traveling. Other games in that series (*coughexcitebikecough*) really aren't worth the $20. I mean, donkeykong has 3 levels you play over and over and over. The shorter games should have been put on a compilation pak.
