I just thought we needed a thread for the monument that FFVII was, because it's awesome. It's a tragic waste not to have it.

My favorite characters, predictably, are Barret and Vincent.

My most hated character is actually Hojo. I knew he was Sephiroth's father as soon as Vincent mentioned that Lucrecia was the mother, because he had a history of screwing with his colleagues' personal lives. And Gast/Ifalna has so much fanfic potential, y'know?

My favorite boss battle music (aside from One-Winged Angel, of course) is the Jenova theme that isn't, because in fandom, I'm nothing if not vengeful.

I was about ready to quit the game at the whole Platonic-reality sequence where Cloud is supposed to be a Sephiroth clone, despite looking nothing like him, because if you're going to do that kind of thing, at least give some warning. Fortunately, I asked around enough to know that it was satisfactorily resolved, and sure enough, it was.

I haven't played FFVII, or FFVIII, the only ones I've played are X and X-2 (and KH, but that doesn't really count), but I know alot about all the games.

My favourite character would have to be Yuffie. She's so awesome! I also like Vincent and Red XIII, oh and of course Cloud and Aeris, and Tifa too.... Okay, so it's basically all of them XD

I can't wait for Advent Children though!! *rewatches trailers on Official Site* So awesome!!

I hope they remake the game on PS3, I really want to see it with better graphics, so much potential!

I can't wait for Advent Children either. Sephiroth looks really creepy in the trailers, which just adds to the excitment.
And as for the remake for PS3, I'm pretty sure Square said they weren't going to make it. (Oh, but I hope they change their mind and do it! The trailer for that looked so amazing.)
More on Advent Children, seems there are little action figures surfacing. There was an ad for them in my anime insider magazine. Hmmm...

FFVII is probably the most famous Final Fantasy, I'd say. I mean come on, it had Sephiroth, just about the coolest villian in the history of forever.

My favorite has to be Yuffie though, she's extremely effective with Morph on her final weapon, and does 9999 before her strength allows her to deal that much damage. Perhaps this works on others as well, but I always keep it on Yuffie. =D My party is always Cloud (except in a few parts obviously), Yuffie, and whomever I choose (usually Red, Cait Sith, and sometimes Tifa).

Great game, only FF I could go through over and over again, as there's so much to it.

I'm looking forward to Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus (despite the fact that I rarely use Vincent, he's the coolest of the crew).

My party is always Cloud, Yuffie, and Tifa. Cloud for his Omnislash, Yuffie I have her set on her Doom of the Living limit break instead of her final limit because DotL is like "Omnislash-lite," and Tifa I got good at her slots so she can deal respectable damage with her limit break ^^

Heh, well, I must say, I thought the obvious choice would be Red XIII... In my opinion, Nanaki is the coolest! I totally love him. My usual party is Cloud, Red XIII, and Cid. Cid is very cool too. Haven't quite beaten the game yet, but that's only because I'm a pack-rat sort of person and I haven't gotten all of the secrets yet.

I'm still in the process of morphing all of the creatures in the downed submarine and maxing out every character's stats. (Yuffie first of course :3).

Oh the joy of FF7, i'll tell you all the little secret of how i did on my first game play. So i playing along not really sure what i was doing(my first ever FF ever played and was quite young but not that young) So i enter the mako building(the first thing you enter) and you kill all the guys and the boss and all that fun stuff. After you kill the boss you need to get out of the building cause it's gonna explode and thats never too good. So me being the smart person i am run trying to backtrack my steps to the enterance elevator type thing, and mind you i'm having a very difficult time doing so. I go run up there stairs and i see this NPC(i dunno the name wedge or the other person i think it's the other person since wedge is the fat one) i run past that person because the time is coming down very fast to 0 and 0 means game over(only cause i went through areas the same time over and over again it was mind boggling) so i run all the way down to the elevator and try to go out and a message appears "Oh no it seems you need (so and so the person that i left on the place that really is the guy that i need to operate the elevator) so i run back and sadly went i get to him the timers goes to 0 and everything explodes and it's game over for me.
Of course this is a sad tale on my part so after that i never played the game ever again, i tried once but i got stuck in the place where you get Red XII and such. And never tried to pick it back up ever again. Neat story isn't it?

Even so i played on my cousin's account who got almost everything and i just used their account to battle and such, but nothing major but i do agree that the better characters in the game are Yuffie, Tifa, and Red XII, even though barrett isn't that bad in my accounts. And Cloud is Cloud.=D

I feel forced to laugh at that every time I see it, if only for the reason that it caused you not to pick up the game again for a long time. Actually, when I first started playing it (I was about 11ish?), I used to get stuck at the crossdressing part. XD

I got my Playstation when I was 10, My first agme was FF7. I'm in the smae boat you were Blk Mage.

But, I did get past it and I got really far. I had all the characters except Vincent. I spent half a summer just leveling up my characters, I was crazy.

See, it started like this...

After you get out of the city, there is a lake you have to cross, and it has a snake in it. If it gets to you, you have to fight it. I kept lsoing to it, so, I thought, I'll just Level up my characters. And well, when I was done, I could kill all enemies in the region 1-hit, and I could kill the sanke in a few hits. I was a crazy 10-Year Old.

Also, everytime I get a Playstation, my first game is a FF Game. So...

Playstation 1=FF7
Playstation 2=FFX
Playstation3=???

Also, I got stuck in Cloud's home town and then I lost my save game.

Ah knew something was wrong with the name, anyways he is cool.(i'm guessing it is a he not a she)

Speaking of Nanaki, how exactly did he get those children in the final scene?
