If you have no games that you are going to regret getting rid of, then it's a good idea. As long as you are spending it on a PS2 and not on a b0x0r-o-r0x0rz, I recommend it. :p

I wouldn't, not since the next generation console has been announced for PS2 as the PS3. Gamecube still has life, and no future thing to steal any upcoming games.

Um, I wouldn't do it. I have both, and I'd take GC over PS2 any day. Call it "kiddie" if you want, but I think GC has much more quality and better games.

Also, you're not going to get a direct answer, there are GC fans and PS2 fans. It's all up to you.

And, of course, the PS2 was the first to fail Morgan Von Vebb's endurance test thingy, and the GC outlasted everything. :P

One question, what games do you have currently for your GC?

Not many good RPG's huh?

Here's some pretty good ones,

Animal Crossing,
Baten Kaitos
Eternal Arcadia
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
Mega Man X: Command Mission
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door(IT ROCKS MY SOCKS!)
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Tales of Symphonia(AWESOME!)

and Fire Emblem is coming out later this year. Paper Mario alone is reason enough to own a cube.

I know that this isn't an RPG but you can't own a gamecube without Super Smash Bros Melee. That's was why I chose the gamecube, although alot of other games helped me make my decesion.

Even I (a Nintendo fan not fanboy) can see that the Gamecube has been going downhill lately. Sure there is quite a few great games on it, but it's almost being surpassed by the XBox in most categories, which is pretty bad when you think about it. While there are many good games still coming out for the Gamecube, I don't really think there's that much more to expect (save the new Zelda game and the new Fire Emblem game) from it in the future. I don't think it's bound to make a rebound in the near future, unless they come out with a downpour of more great games. :\

Well, on the PS2, they have the sequal, and the original, and Champions of Norrath 1&2, so those games you may like.
