Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to change just one layer of your image into grayscale, not the whole image. If it is possible, how?

I don't think it's possible. If it is, then I don't know how.

The only thing I can think of is to paste the layer as a new image, make it grayscale, and then paste the layer back into the original image.

Ok thnaks, I'll try that :)

I don't think you can change one layer to grayscale, per se...but you could try going Image > Adjustments > Desaturate, and it will change that layer to shades of gray.

Try going to Image>Adjust>hue saturation and enter -100 in the middle where it says saturation. :D

Eidolon method works too, only you can't control how grey the layer is.

You can also use the Sponge Tool (it's in the same "menu" as Burn or Dodge, under the Fill/Gradient) on Desaturate mode.

Wow thanks, I'm gonna have to play around with them all!
