When I scammed a scammer...

Wed Jun 16, 2004 2:22 pm

This happened a very long time ago.
I was new to neopets sorta, and I saw someone say, "give me a codestone and I will give you a neopets account worth over 2mill."
Since I was a newbie I sent her a codestone.
She said, "that is a lu codestone I don't want lu".
Then I said, "fine give me my codestone back".
She said, "well since you already gave me the codestone i will tell you the password and account".
I said, "ok"
She then told me the user and password.
But the account was new and un-verified.
So then on a curious bit, I went to see if the password worked on the account she neomailed me from.
It did!
She had priced my Lu Codestone for 6k in her shop.
I took my Lu Codestone back and then signed off.
She neomailed me, "thanks for the lu codestone. it sold for 6000 neopoints".
Or did it?
About a month later she created a guild and said that the guild bank had 3 million nps, and each member would get tons of it.
I logged into her account again.
Saw 50k in her account.
Searched everything, stocks, shop till, trades, and bank.
So I neomailed her back from my main account back then and said, "you don't have 3mill".
She said, "I do too how would you know?".
(I wonder *wink*)
A few months later she changed her password.
The End.

When my friend found out about it he asked me why I never took the rest of her stuff.
Well because I am a good player...

That's funny. If i got an account i'd just scam myself.

Mwahahahaaar. If it were me I probably would have stared at it, wrote something like 'BLAHAR I SMEEL' on ze userlook-up and then got my item back :D

You did great, even if you risked TNT freezing you because you entered into someone else's account... but anyways, I suppose I would have done the same

*shniggles* 'Twas a bit silly to give your own password out when you're trying to scam someone...obviously this guy was inexperienced XD

Hmmm... I do admit that it would be cool to do that to a scammer, but it's wrong to go into anyone's account for any reason. If you were caught, you could of had your own account frozen.

LOL :D How ironic! Wonder if the person ever suspected you... It's a good thing you didn't steal her stuff, you're a good player! :)

Still doesn't change the fact you broke into an account. I don't care who it was.

You are lucky that you were not caught. If she were to report you for breaking and entering, you wouldn't have a leg to stand even though she herself was a scammer. :?

You are a good player! That was very honest. I would have got my item back, and told the people in the guild the truth. *shrugs* But that's just me

Ditto.

"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you"

WHen you found out the password was the same, you should've neomailed back alerting her.

Hah I did that when I was a newbie too! I wonder how some scammers are so stupid?

Thu Jun 17, 2004 12:33 am

 That's very amusing. I can't believe someone would give out the actual password and screen name! Although I wouldn't have gone into the account, it's nice to scam a scammer. (To a point) I also think you did good by not getting carried away and doing too much to the account. :)
