Do we already have a thread about this movie? I can't find anything...

Anyway, just saw it last night. As my husband and I were walking out of the theatre, I sez to him "If there's anyone, you know, at work or something, who did something crappy and you really want to get back at them, tell them to go see that movie."

It was the biggest waste of 3 hours and $10 I ever spent. It looked great from the trailer, but that's because the trailer showed all of the (very few) good parts of the movie! It was sooooo boring. I felt like I was sitting in that chair for eternity.

Yeah, I've heard it did horrible in the box office. It placed at number 6 for it's opening weekend, it was beaten by "National Treasure" and "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie". It's a shame it's a bad movie, I wanted to see it.

Historically accurate and terrible.

I was helping run a sneak preview for it, so I got verbally harassed by people for 3 hours and then saw something so terrible it made me want to cry.

As much as I'm looking forward to seeing Colin Farrell kissing Jared Leto (**giggle**) I'll be waiting for this to be on Digital Cable.

Yeah, my brother wanted to see this, but I asked him, "Do you really wanna see a flick with two guys making out?"

Needless to say, we're seeing "Team America" tonight at the dollar theater instead, lol.

Dollar theater? o.O;; *Blinks* movies for a dollar? haha. That would be a miracle, lol.

YEah, it's too bad the reviews are so bad..The previews DID look good. I was gonna see it..but..well, after seeing the ratings, decided not to >.<. It's a shame.

Why exactly are there men making out in the movie?

It's a sad attempt at historical accuracy. At that time in history, it was quite common and accepted for men to have lovers of both genders, and Alexander was no exception.

that would be my only reason to go see it! <3

actually, my teacher wants our class to go see it for the costumes and the historical value, but she didn't get the school to pay for the tickets and i'm not really wanting to spend ten bucks to see a crappy movie. forget this "education" business.

Actually, if I remember correctly, they never actually kissed... there was quite a lot of sexual tension between them, but it never showed them kissing. ^^;

Farrell DOES kiss other guys though. It was actually quite awkward to watch, and I usually don't have a problem with same-sex relationships at all. The filmography just made it seem very uncomfortable. >.>

Ugh. On at least 3 seperate occasions, I wanted to just get up and leave, something I've NEVER done in ANY movie. Later my husband told me he was thinking the same thing, and I was like "ACK! If only we'd said something to each other, we could have saved ourselves at least an hour!" lol

I think the single thing that bothered me the most (aside from the painfully slow length and sheer boredom) was that all the fight scenes were filmed in Shaky-Cam, and then the last one added an annoying red filter. I might as well have closed my eyes during all the battles.

Wow... glad I had no interest in seeing the movie in the first place.
The commercials/previews whatever you want to call them just looked corny to me. Specially that one where Angelina Jolie does her oh so dramatic line.. *barfs*
The bf will probably rent it though when it comes out... *sigh*

You've never heard of dollar theatres? The reason they're so cheap is because the movies they show are a little late...

People have been saying they they go to a movie for 9 or more bucks a person. Here's what I pay... During the summer when the local drive-in opens I pay 5 bucks for 2 movies. Sometimes 3...

Anyways I kind of want to see it, I've never listened to critics...

Though the guy kissing thing might make me a little uncomforatable...
