They really do look like fake shoulders made out of silly putty. It doesn't look...authentic. The outfit and the character look more like some guy like randomly dressing up as Superman with a bought costume for Halloween.

And wow, they certaintly are making a lot of superhero movies lately.

Actually, in an article in the April 22 USA Today by Anthony Breznican the skin-tight costume is stretching over the actor's actual frame and muscles.

The actor playing the new Superman is Brandon Routh.
