Harry Potter Facedown, Round 11 (mods please lock)

All right, Sirius carries the day, and...

From CoS:

Sirius

vs.

McGonagall

Now, McGonagall is super-awesome, especially in OotP, but you know those characters I listed last time? Those are the Vengeful Knights of Angst, and they are my favorite characters in any fandom they happen to occupy. Nobody can trump Sirius, unless I'm feeling better than usual about Remus or the twins when they show up.

(MEL GIBSON was in all-caps because that is how the appropriate tour guides pronounce it. Of course, one subsect of these tour guides say everything in all-caps, so they really shouldn't count. I would add something here, but there is such a thing as a too-long memory. Anyway, it does help to distinguish him from Jerry-the-paranoid-freak and Martin-not-Marion-the-Ghost-not-the-Fox without imposing on history.)

Anyone but Sirius. I hate him.

McGonagall, she is so cool!

McGonagall, AKA my mom :P Seriously, that's who my mom dresses up as for every book and movie release...she has the hat and everything 8)

*sigh* As much as I love Sirius I chose McGonagall. She seems like a strict teacher, but one that watches over you to make sure you grow up okay. :)

I like Sirius, but there is something about McGonagall that I just love. She's so strict and serious sometimes, but she fights for what she believes it and I always remember the scene with Umbridge when she lost her temper... I just think she's a great character.

Are you joking? I want to be McGonagall when I grow up. I mean, not with my hair in a bun all the time and everything, I'd be quite a bit less strict, but she's just... McGonagall. She's a cat animagus, for God's sake. That immediately makes her great.

She is so absolutely awesome.

If so many people like McGonagall, how come Sirius is winning? o_O

McGonagall! I just think that she's amazing.

From what I remember, McGonagall was cool, so I voted for her. :P

Er, no, he didn't. He was dueling with Bellatrix and she stunned him, causing him to fall backwards into the veil. Sirius may have gone to the Department of Mysteries with the other Order members because of Harry, but he certainly didn't die for Harry. Well, in my opinion, anyway- I think you only really die for someone if, say, you swap your life for theirs, or if you take a bullet/Avada Kedavra for them. For example, in the Final Battle, Voldemort may shoot the killing curse at Harry, and someone- most fans think Ron or Snape will do so- jumps in front of him and dies instead of him, so that he has a better chance of beating Voldemort.

Also, simply because someone dies for someone else doesn't mean everyone has to worship them. I'm not exactly fond of Sirius, as I found him to be incredibly immature in OotP. He may have been cool in the eyes of some fans, but that doesn't mean I'm just going to ignore how he and James tortured Snape during their entire stay at Hogwarts. (I despise bullies. Snape may have been a horrible little ball of grease himself, but honestly, the Marauders probably made him worse.)

However... He was an interesting character and a wonderful godfather to Harry. I'll admit that.
