Batman Begins

Sun Jun 19, 2005 6:54 am

I went to see this last night, and I have to say it was excellent.
The movie goes through most of his life, from his parent's murder to his return to the city.
It shows how he stumbles along during his first few tries, and slowly invents his alter-ego.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it to anyone. Any thoughts on it?

Not that I'm at all shallow and vacuous when it comes to films, but does Christian Bale get his kit off at all?

Igg, why are you even interested? Batman isn't ginger.

Batman is one of my favourite comic book characters ever. In fact he might be THE favourite one. I also love Robin however. Nightwing *squee*

Going to see it on Monday.

I was pleasantly suprised at the whole movie, and aparently it keeps more to the original comics as the first lot were about the Falconi family.

The bit where he shreads the ninja sword with his pointy arm things was good

My sister saw it and thought it was wonderful. She said it was the best Batman film she saw. She also said it was much more for adults and it was really an emotional, dramatic type film.

I want to see it.

I want to see this movie so badly! I know I'm obviously going to go to see it, my bf thinks he's the best becasue he's the only superhero(or w/e he is) becasue he's the only one that doesn't have any special powers, he's just a normal man. I've always loved the batman movies, even the one where they had arnold (horrible actor I swear), and I know this one won't be an exception. Christian Bale as batman is a little different than how I remember him in Little Women, so it should be interesting in that aspect as well.

Ill give it 3 out of 5 meh's. i saw it, and i thought it was pretty good... the story was a little wierd and jumbled, and i dont like how the "main villian" wasnt so huge in this movie... i mean, the scarecrow wasnt even in it that much. the other movies STAR batman as well as 2 or 3 villians...... but this had scarecrow in a few scenes here an there. the real villian was the guy who trained him, i say. And i dont like that half of the movie was made up of him learning to fight atop a mountain. eh. I mean, the armour and car were cool..... the effects were cool....... i just didnt care for the actors or story all that much. And not to mention, as a superhero, i shouldnt point out that his cape and his mask TOTALLY clash. I could outsave Batman any day....

Batman was my most favourite cartoon when I was young, due to its gothicness and sinister, twisted villains. I haven't watched Batman Begins though, but I intend to.

I would be disappointed if the villains were not featured much... villains are integral in every Batman movie.

yes, the old batman cartoons did rock... the villians were cool and classic back then..... and batman had the right attitude... now they stink... they just have some futuristic robot or some looney who inventst a supersuit....

and by right attitude, i mean the dark huggle teddy bear. In batman begins, he sounds like a old lunatic trying to stop smoking by jabbing a fork in his throat.... "rrarrRRRrr iimmmmm BAAATttttman......."

But DOES HE?!

I saw it yesterday... and I must say I'm rather undecided about it.

The storyline was cool, there were some very interesting ideas going on there. On the visuals and cinematography side of things, it was fairly awesome too. Gotham city looked great, and everything had a nice 'dirty' feel to it :)

Even so, I came out feeling 'meh' about it (like The Wonder Weezel said). I'm not sure if Batman was really likeable enough. I found him a quiterigid/boring/serious throughout, which made it hard to care about him. There are some movies where I find myself thinking I wouldn't mind if the main character got killed off... and this was one of them, unfortunately! (the last movie I thought that about was King Arthur, I think, hehe).

So... I'd probably give it 3/5.

Edit: Igg, he wakes up shirtless in bed a few times... *hopes that isn't too much of a spoiler* ;)

Personally, I liked it and thought it was the best of all the Batman movies.

The beginning was great with the whole Origin of Batman thing and the League of Shadows, but it started to decline in the last 40 minutes where it just became another blow-stuff-up movie.

Shaky-cam fight sequences irk my tater. A LOT.

Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised by the film, and I think they really hit the mark when they cast Christian. He was the best Batman since Michael Keaton.
