So you think you can dance?

Thu Jul 28, 2005 1:05 am

I searched for a topic on this and didn't find any so. Anyone else watching this? I have seen the first two shows and I'm so far liking it. Does anyone else enjoy it? I'm not sure if it's going to be like American idol for me, I just watch the auditions and that's as far as I go. I think I've only recently seen a little more of american idol than the auditions and then I stopped. I think it's pretty cool to see some of the bigger people doing some awesome dance moves :D. I'm not sure if it's going to do so well without a Simon, though if they had a Simon it would be too deja vu.

Well I don't know too much about dancing, but it's entertaining so far.
I don't like that alot of the breakdancers aren't getting through though, but I guess with the very limited number they can bring they'd want people who know how to follow directions from the choreographers and such.. *shrugs*

I watched this show because I like breakdancing and I wanted to see some of the breakers in the competition. However, I ended up not liking the show. One, why do they have THREE British judges? Nothing against the British but it just reeks of "hey it worked for American Idol, so let's triple it." As much as I despise Paula Abdul, she should really be a judge on this show rather than "Idol" seeing as her cheerleading/dancing skills are definitely more refined than her vocal skills.

And I think I saw either the 1st or 2nd episode, where the blonde girl that has a striking resemblance to Britney Spears managed to make it to the Hollywood tryout. I suppose she was indeed a quick study when it came to the choreographed section, but you can't deny that her Britney-esque face played a major part. what irked me the most was that her initial solo routine really wasn't that good... her dance moves never moved with the beat, they didn't make sense with the song she selected. The judges were happily bopping their heads though.

So.. what's wrong with having 3 british judges? I never looked at it as a American Idol x3 thing.
Just figured the producer? wanted his wife there b/c they both had experience in the past with dancing... and well.. I don't know who the other guy is.

And the Britney Spears looking girl was on the 1st episode. Her looks definetly helped her get through, but she did seem to be doing pretty well the other rounds though.

Personally I don't think alot of the people dance with the beat of the song they choose.
Most of it just looks like a bunch of spinning with some kicks here and there to me :P heh

I watched it last night and it seemed pretty good. Some people are really good.. some people are really bad. Some of the dancers has really really bad posture :S.

Hated it. Mostl because I wanted to go to bed and somebody wouldnt let me

Nah wait, I'll admit that there were some truly entertaining parts. The "masculine" kid was funny, the fat kid was awesome, and the bellydancer...

..well..enuff said I think 0:)

mmmm at the belly dancer heh :D

First of all Jim I said you could go home, I wasn't keeping you.

You happily stared at the belly dancers tata's and weren't sleepy then :P.

I agree with the comments about the britneyesque girl, I would have liked they wanted someone original not someone that was copying britney. Also did anyone else notice she was doing the carlton during her routine :P

That one guy needs to GO HOME! His cute lil puppy can stay but him and his stank attitude can just go!
He is SO cocky it's not even funny... it's actually pretty darn sad and embarassing.
I dunno... I guess I'd have to be a performer to understand all of that crying they did tonight. All I could do when they were showing that was just snicker at them and think they were all just hamming it up for the cameras. Boohoo I'm crying and dancing.. how deep.... *rolls eyes*

Anywho.... sad to see the poor Irish dancer 6' tall girl go. I wanted to smack that stupid idiot salsa dancer for making fun of her though.

And and yeah... there's more I couldt alk about but I'll let someone else talk for now.. hopefully heh.

I missed the last fifteen minutes. :(

Who stayed and who went home?

Thu Aug 04, 2005 4:57 pm

Well the obivous ones went home.... like uhm.. the 2 girls who faked an injury.
Thr Britney Spears looking girl, the Irish dancing 6' tall girl, the 30something woman who was on American Idol.
The black girl with poofy hair that got ticked off at the chubby guy when they were ballroom dancing.
Guy with the mohawk.
Black breakdancing guy that did that battle dance off thing with the white guy that wasn't a breakdancer but could do the stuff too.
Uhm... those are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head.

No, I can't. I really can't.
