Greetings, and welcome to Anime Versus. Like it's predecessors, Anime Versus will pit two competitors against each other each week, to see which one PPTers prefer. To vote, please select the anime you like best from the poll at the top of this topic, then feel free to discuss your choice below. The winner of the week will move onto the next round, and will face a new challenger anime. Should an anime win for six weeks straight, it will be removed from the competition and placed into the Anime Hall of Fame.
Last week, Fullmetal Alchemist defeated Read or Die: The TV by five votes. This week it will face a new anime.

Series Information:
Fullmetal Alchemist (a.k.a Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) is an adventure drama produced by Bones, Aniplex, Square-Enix and Mainichi Broadcasting. Its 51 episodes ran from October 2003 to October 2004.* It is also currently being run as a part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim line-up in the United States.
Full Metal Alchemist is the story of two brothers who are gifted alchemists. When their mother dies, they decide to use their powers to restore her to life, violating the taboo against human transmutation. They pay a terrible price for their mistake. Edward, the elder brother, is left with a mechanical arm and leg, while Alphonse, the younger of the two, finds his soul bound to an empty suit of armor. The story follows their quest for the Philosohper's Stone, a legendary material with the power to restore their bodies.***

Seishun Gakuen (a junior high school), more commonly referred to by the nickname Seigaku, is known for its strong tennis team. It’s “Regulars” (the top players who compete in interschool tournaments) include a national-level singles player, Tezuka Kunimitsu, the tennis prodigy, Fuji Syuusuke, and the national-level double team, Oishi Syuchiro and Kikumara Eiji, who are known as the “Golden Pair”. Seigaku’s chances of going deep into the prefectural and regional tournaments were already quite high with players like these, but when a mysterious and nonchalant first year student, Echizen Ryoma, joins the team and is not only able to compete with the Regulars but also to able to defeat several of them, even the National title begins to sound less like a daydream and more like an attainable goal. Only the incredibly strong teams from other schools stand in their way. Seigaku! Fight-o! Fight-o! Fight-o!
