Never heard the phrase "Teaser trailer for a film due out in a year?"
On the other hand, I saw this about a week ago.
Inside contacts FTW.
Edit: General concensus is that the bot is either Brawl (Is similar to the mid-transformation Bumblebee that has been shown) , Megatron (The bowl head) Or just some nameless Protoform bot.

'Michael Bay'. First off is the fact he slapped his name around the place which looked ridiculous. Secondly is the hideous use of cliche in the opening thing.
'It was the only warning we would get...'
'We were told it crashed'
'It was classified Top Secret'
And of course the catch phrase of 'Their war, our world'.

It is their war and our world...
May I ask, in your opinion Is G1 the best Transformers series?
Though I bet I know the answer already.
Fake. And
Old fake at that. :|
Said bumble-bee mid transformation.

I think so. The catchphrase is just so corny. Do they even need a catchphrase? It also seems to imply that it might be taking from a human point of view which would be rather unappealing.
I know its a teaser though, and the first King Kong trailers didn't even feature a single scene from the movie. But still...The beagle 2 was...not a roller. If he can't get these kinds of things down in a teaser trailer...what the hell is going to happen in the movie??! (Or it could be part of the secret government cover up that the beagle two was in fact a rover than a robotic arm...)

Yeah, that appears to be the biggest complaint about it "Beagle two wasnt a roller... and it was British"
Still, who cares, aslong as big arsing great robots bash the hell out of eachother im fine, its not like it can kill the franchise if this one does badly.

*Twitch*
Michael Bay wrote:BTW, for those of you asking:
1- None of the Mars story, launch footage, and rover footage is going to be in the movie.
2.- Yes, Bay did shoot the rover footage.
Well...he has certainly defined the 'tease' in teaser trailer.

That's about the first teaser trailer I've ever seen that doesn't include one frame of the movie
(well, maybe the Simpsons trailer, but that's a teaser teaser trailer)

Spiderman.
X-men.
Every film ever...

It's only a recent trend. Xmen did include frames from the movie but it portrayed them in an entirely different way to reality. AS for spiderman, I dunno.

Eh well, makes good sense, Whip up Talk about the film with something that ominous is a smart move.
And heck, who cares if he plastered his name on the trailer?
It's his film, and its a g-d send that an A-class Movie director even cares, let alone Two o' em!
(Albeit Spielberg is as a Producer)
The very worst thing they could do would be to try and Relive G1.
I like it because of the Nostalgia... Nothing else.
