The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

I think three weeks ago, there was this episode with this African-American family, and this woman who helped all these wheelchair people. They live four blocks down from me.
Of course, that show is great, but it LIES... lol. The family started their handicap foundation two weeks before they sent in an application, not everyone on the show lived in the house, and it took them 2 weeks to do the entire house.

Boo! And all this time I thought they actually did houses in one week.
I would have guessed families had to come up with some of the money themselves though.

Meh.. I don't care if they build the house in 1 week, 2 weeks or however many it takes.
Just so long as deserving families get it.
Hmm.. sounds like they wanted more sympathy.... *sigh* Not all of them can be winners I guess.

Well yeah, I was just like that, I didn't care as long as they got what they should. But this family LIED. The niece and nephew of the main woman go to my school -- the niece is in 11R (held back a year from 11th grade, remedial) and the nephew steals from kids. Then there's a bunch of other stuff that if you wanna know, I'll let you know via AIM -- this family doesn't deserve it at all.

*just shakes her head* That's just sad. I think a lot of these people deserve these homes, but that just is insane. To lie like that on national television...you gotta have some kinda backbone to do that, albeit not a good one.

I absolutely LOVE this show....I was so upset when I missed episodes b/c of the hurricanes.
We applied when we saw that box thing at Sears but our Application Video is probabally done wrong...
Speaking of those videos...does it look to anyone else like they're done professionally?

Well I think they send in a not so good one and then when they get picked for the show they do a better one..

I saw an advert for it yesterday and I think it starts tomorrow night in the UK, looks really good though.

I watched last night and I was really really touched *sounds like a girl*. It's just, the family had deaf parents and an authistic (spelling?) son. They also had an older son who didn't have any disabilities and I loved the show. I got emotional when they were showing them various aspects of the house and when he got his check. It was wonderful.

I really like this show to. I'm not one of those people who will watch it everyweek, but when I see that it's on I love watching the transformation. I'm always so jealous when I see the finished product. I think it's great how they pick the families as well, it's not just random people, or people who they think would make a good show, they actually pick people who could use it. It really is one of those shows that just makes you smile in the end. In fact, I'm watching it right now.
