sorry about the wierd title... sometimes its just hard to fit things!

Anyway, ive always been into harry potter books, so ive kinda poo pooed the series of unfortunate events books... i didnt care to read them....

but i saw the movie a few times now, and i was wondering how it compares to the books.... there are multiple books, right? I want to know if the movie just covers one book, like harry potter movies do, or if it covered a few? and if they might release more movies of this book? I rather enjoyed it, actually.... and id also like to know what the whole thing with the spyglass is.... oh, and if there are multiple books, how many are there? lots of questions. :)

I think the movie covers three books. They changed the plot of the first book in the film slightly.

Yup.

As for the spyglass thing, this didn't happen in the books, but I'm assuming it has to do with a secret organisation that the three siblings will stumble upon in the following movies.

The movie covers the first 3 books, but the plot has been changed around. In the books, the wedding occurs in the first book, but in the movie it occurs after Aunt Josephine. So far there are 12 books I think, more coming. I don't think the spy glass were in the books, what it represents comes out a different way.
I'm hoping they will release more movies, covering there books at a time.

If you have more questions, you can PM me and I would gladly answer them.

There are 11 books so far, the movie only covered the first three.

V.F.D. didn't come up at all until book 5.

I still don't know what was with the spyglasses. It doesn't come up at all in the books.

Jude Law and Liam Aiken killed it.

The books are much better.

:)

There weren't any spyglasses in the books.

Yes, the books are far better- the movie was alright, but it changed too many things (and while I'm a fan of the books, I'm no canon fairy for this series). I don't think casting Liam Aiken was a wise choice. He's alright as Klaus, but he makes Klaus seem to be Violet's twin, or something. He's too old for the part, really (and besides, the glasses!), in my opinion.

The only part of the film I really liked were the credits. Drool-worthy graphics, and the end music was great. :D

can't find the sig from this set, so instead, you get a <3 .

Liam Aiken - OK actor, just bad casting.

I liked Jude Law in it. Different to how I had imagined from the books, but I enjoyed it.

The movie wasn't great. I did, however, like the twist of the letter from the Baudelaire parents, which never appeared in the book. Other than that, the books are far better. The movie just didn't succeed in capturing Lemony Snicket's ability to make me laugh with his excellent writing.

Actually, I like the movie Klaus much better than the book one. His glasses made him look too much like Harry Potter, and that gives people sort of a pre-judgement of the book.

The movie was very well done, but it failed to grasp the sort of charm that the book had. Jude Law just didn't do Snicket justice.

Speaking of justice, they made Justice Strauss look like a bumbling idiot. She tried to help them in the book. Oo;

the books are bloody amazing. they've always been compared to harry potter, but other than them being a somewhat clever series, there's not much similar.

sunny is my very most favorite character ever. the sunny in the movie made me cry.

Yeah, I always liked Justice Strauss in the book. It was sort of unfair of the movie people to butcher her character (not literally).
