In L'arc-en-ciel's case, they are widely known around the world. I even know of them and I don't listen to French music a lot although I do like some artists. If an artist is widely recognized around the world by people who don't listen to that type of foreign music, they are allowed to compete.

I didn't knock down the ones of others. I said nothing about people who like Relient K, several of my friends do and I like them just fine. That doesn't mean I should pretend I like them or pretend to even mildly dislike them.
