possible spoilers...

you must remember, it's not real. none of the town is actually. it's the idea of the town, and people see what they think is real. the monsters look and act the way they are because of the fear within the individual (at least that's what i've gathered from the video games). so the costume of the cop? inspired by how a cop should look...perhaps...could be really wrong about all this.

need to see this before it leaves the theaters. *whines*

Silent Hill originated from Japan, so I doubt they really took the time to check up on how a certain area of the country dresses their police force.

Spoilers, maybe, I don't know

All of the characters in all of the Silent Hill games are pretty... well screwed up, Cybil included. There's more to everyone than what meets the eye. What she's wearing is a generic police uniform, and usually what most people think of then they think of the police. Considering that Toluca County is a fictional place, and it the games were made by the Japanese (and yes, the movie uniform is inspired by the game, though a different colour) it's not too much of a stretch to give them clothing that doesn't match actual society in that area.


Also, monsters don't exist in West Virginia, though I could be wrong.

*leaps with joy...or as much as i can* Saw it before it left the theater, and ever thankful i have, even though i freaked my brothers out whom i invited to go see it. As my brother said after watching it, i certianly know how to pick them (i.e. demented movies). *shrugs* Perhaps it's best i look into the abyss by myself? perhaps...
