The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

Having catchups is fair.
How completely dumb would it be for one team who is HOURS ahead of everyone, stay hours ahead of everyone in the race all through the entire thing? No point in watching it anymore since we'd all know that that team would most likely be the winners unless they screwed up royally.
Having catch up spots gives other teams at least some sort of chance to win.
If there weren't any.... Amazing Race would be a couple of episodes and whichever team got ahead of the others with more than an hour lead would be declared the winner.

This leg of the race just wasn't fair at all.
Yeah, the brothers made some dumb mistakes, but there was No where for them to catch up at all.
If the challenges had been a bit more challenging... instead of..... balance these on your head! But wait! If you can't, just run a few feet over there and do this other more simple task of filling a small coffee cup with milk!

Then the next.... Drive this way... move the logs grab the flags and clue and there ya go! A nice short 9miles with a marked path to the pit stop!

And even with the mistakes that were made by M & G and the other team.. they only had to drive 9miles back to get what they missed.

It wasn't fair......

But whatever....it was just a very sucky episode.

Before I comment on the catch-up debate thing, I'm first going to say "Hi my name is the Amazing Race and I like to cash in on myself by pointlessly making extra long legs that span over more than one week...". Sorry... I thought the whole "Oh no! The clue is different!" Was going to be something different than just "The race is still on"... Maybe for the final 3 that would have been good (actually that would be really good... and cruel).

Anyway, I agree with Shollia. The race would be so boring if people with leads just kept the leads with no catch ups. And catchups don't make the race completely unfair either. Teams can get an earlier flight than others and keep their lead. Choose a different task and keep their lead. Those flights where they have to sign up for "First Flight" and "Second Flight" are a good way also. There are lots of way to keep the lead while still being fair.

Meh... this episode was alright. Not very entertaining anymore without the brothers in it :(
Next one looks pretty entertaining... I hope one of those camels spits all over Rob & Amber.
That would be hilarious.. actually would be hilarious if it happened to any of them but moreso if it happened to them :P

That episode bit.
Emeh.
It just dragged on and on. Like... that movie I hate.
Hrm.

Anyways. I really don't like Lynn and Alex. They annoy me.

I wanted to smack Gretchen in this episode... her whining when she was trying to find the clue in those steel boxes was annoying the crud out of me.
I mean DUH... their clue said pick someone who is patient and she sure as heck wasn't acting like it.

I saw on the bottom of the clue it said 'Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!'. Maybe the last team to get onto the mat will get eliminated?

Agreed. I was like, "Hurry up and end".

But go Romber!

They annoy me as well. In the beginning, it was normal, nothing bad about them.

But now, they bash Romber every single opportunity they get. I think it's low of them.

Exactly. They're getting on my last nerves as well. GWAAR.
Although, I wonder why they decided to make a cliffhanger-esque episode. Don't really understand why... *?*

They crack me up, I just don't want them to get into top 3. They are *animated* so to say.

My ideal top three would have to be...
Rob and Amber
Ron and Kelly
Uchenna and Joyce

Ron and Kelly for the win!

Can't wait to see the camels tonight.. I thought the whole "I'll give you yourother clue" thing was a little wierd, because it made it seem (to me at least) that thats their last clue. But then there is a whole episode..

Wed Apr 20, 2005 1:59 am

Wait... Another elimination leg? That leaves 2 more non-eliminations with only 4 teams left? So that means next week it will be "Oh sorry you are the last team to arrive... but you are still in the race" and then the week after "Well you are the last team.... but you are still in the race so there are still 4 of you". I think it will be funny if the oldies (I cannot refer to them by name because they annoyed me too much this episode... come on! Get out of the elephant!) get all the non-eliminations.

And Joyce was so brave to do that. But her hair will grow back and it will even look pretty hot short (think Jada Pinkett Smith).

EDIT: Oh yeah.... Uchenna and Joyce all the way!

Wed Apr 20, 2005 2:17 am

Well... since the couple got eliminated... gotta cheer for Uch and Joy.
I was so glad she lopped her hair off though. It's only hair afterall, plus he looks great bald! And not many people can say that.

I just want the old couple gone. They are so freakin annoying it's not even funny anymore. The woman's constant whining this episode just got on my last nerve.
But of course since this episode wasn't a non-elimination... if they come in last next week... meh.. it'll be the non-elim and we'll have to be stuck with that woman's annoying whining another week.

Wed Apr 20, 2005 4:58 am

Wow. I am so glad Joyce and Uchenna were the first team to arrive. They totally deserved it, at least, Joyce definitely did. It must've been so hard to cut off her hair; I'd never be able to do it. I think she looks beautiful still, and Uchenna is so supportive.

And Rob and Amber are finally not leading. Wooo!

Did anyone see the previews for next week's episode and what Kelly said to Ron? Wow... she deserves to be smacked upside the head for that one. I cannot believe she said that to him.
