Has any one thought of...

... holding a Literature quiz competition? There could be questions set on general literature knowledge and more famous books, with some prizes thrown in. I know I wouldn't mind participating in one.

That sounds like a cool idea :D

That sounds like an awesome idea - I'd be interested in it. Now, all you need to do is find someone interested in organising it ;)

That sounds cool. I would organise it, but i am broke right now. :P

As in, neopets prizes or real life prizes? If we're talking Neo-prizes, I'll do it!!!

Sun Sep 05, 2004 3:32 pm

I would most definitely take part in something like that. :D

Neopets prizes, of course! But then the tournament may have to be asked through instant messenger or something, since if it is posted here anyone could just search for the answer to the question on the Internet.

Note: I am willing to sponsor a few prizes myself, and perhaps set a few questions... :)

Thats a point - anyone could search for the answers on the internet, and then it wouldn't be fair.

But I'd be interested to participate if someone sorted it all out! ;)

Not bothered about Neo prizes though, I don't play any more ...

Sounds like a really good idea, and something I'd like to participate.

As far as googling answers and such, I think we could probably leave it up to trust...

Have a rule that prohibits searching online, then.
Sounds like a cool idea otherwise.

I volunteer to organize it. But I couldn't do prizes- I feel bad enough with how low I had to set my set contest prizes.

Sun Sep 05, 2004 8:08 pm

Hmm, I'd help if you wanted staff input :P

Sun Sep 05, 2004 10:05 pm

i'm not online so much these days, but i'd love to participate and i could definitely donate some neopets prizes; i stopped playing neo awhile back so if my account's still around i have some cool stuff and i'd love to donate it to such an awesome idea for a contest. so if things get up and running please contact me through private messaging ('cause i may or may not be able to follow this thread, we'll see how much online time my life lets me have). good luck with this =)

My imput:

If you did it on here with no prizes than it could just be a bunch of fun. I know people could search for the answers, but if there are no prizes than it wouldn't really matter plus they would learn something right. And given that we could take as long as we wanted it could go on forever until people lost interest and then could be revived again at a later date. Plus you wouldn't have to ensure that everyone who wanted to participate were online at a certain date and time. New people could also just join at anytime aswell.

We could create a thread here in the Library, and sticky it. Of course rules would have to be made, and how it will be played would have to be devised, or if there were a system of keeping score. Things like that...

But only if you wanted to do it that way.

oooh, I really like that idea. nice way to keep everyone included, I think. Also if some people got really involved and excited about it they could branch out and make some sort of tournament or something with prizes and a specific date and time which would be additional to the sticky-type thing. but if we started with a sticky-type thing then it would be more relaxed at first and more inclusive, and we could probably get started sooner too! anyway, yeah. =)
