birthday book! :P a friend gave it too me today, a little late and started rambling on about time travel, i thought she was weird, until i read the book a bit..

its fabulous, the plot.. its good, maybe i'm being super critical because i got english essay back today and have the word faerie cirlced in red biro with a mark taken off.. :x but 2 bits i was like: i see whats coming? and one bit i thought that, only to be clobbered in the head by her return serve :P

some bits i had to re-read, deep thought stuff or maybe brain too full of chem

if you liked celtic mythology, its a fantastic book, deals with issues of timetravel, not in the same way as the short story the time traveller does *negatively* but in a more positive aspect. has war, evil witches and knights, bit king authurish *why i thought a couple of bits, not many, were predictable*, but quite pro feminist, well, not exactly, but does rather give the wominizing attitudes a big dent over the head.

if i rated it, 8.5 out of ten. good book :) see if you can find it, shes an australian author, and shes won a few awards for her books too :)

did i mention theres magic? :P

its classified as fantasy :)

'The Ancient Future' is also a three part trilogy for those that didn't know, there's 'The Ancient Future : The Dark Ages', 'An Echo In Time : Atlantis' and 'Masters of Reality : The Gathering'. All the books in the trilogy are good but I have to say I had a preference for the first book :) Anyways, Happy Birthday Autechre and Congratulations on such a neat present!

:) thanks for the other info, i have to wait until i have more money though, bought a neil garmain comic *shudder $30!! walking daylight robbery* but the others sound really interesting, i've seen them plenty of times before but was usually focussed on another series.

and thanks for the well wishes, i had a pretty good day, if you don't count having to go to maths tutoring, and my mother forgetting :P
