Feedback needed: New design VS Old design

Yup, working on a "new" design for my homepage, but to tell you the truth, it's more of a remake/improvement of the old one.

But I'm not sure which is the best, new or old.

The new one is only Work in Progress, so it might look weird at places.
The text "ibisaeg.mine.nu" is temporary, gotta find some new font or just spice it up a little.

I like them both. I really like the squares with the images in them on the top of the new version. Are you going to fill all of the boxes with pictures for the links?
I like the text on the old layout more. It may not be the font that I like, but probably the simple shadow.

Yup, that was the plan But I need to make icons, and I'm no good at it :/ Although I made a somewhat viewable Info-icon, but I got three left, and no idea of what to make them like

Anyone that has any tips?

Fanlistings, Other and Forum is the ones I need icons for. I thought something like 2 people-figures on the forum, but other than that I'm lost :/

For some reason, the first thing that popped into my head for a fanlisting image was a "chibi" face with a big heart. >.<
