Is PPT done jumping the shark? Back to find out.

Thu Mar 20, 2008 4:17 am

The topic title says it all. Seven months gone seems enough that it's possible the issues that made me leave are now gone.

First off, I'd like to apologise to all the people my leaving caused issues to - I'm fairly certain the only group majorly affected was the players in my WW game, to whom I can only offer my sincerest apology for leaving. Hopefully you don't (still?) hate me.

Since I've been gone, I've become quite the proficient Mafia player at Mafiascum, so if at some point you let me play again, I'm kind of going to completely pwn you all. You have been warned. :P Also, I should be getting Brawl at some point soon, so I can pwn you all there.

I've developed really odd tastes in music since I left - right now I'm listening to Utada Hikaru on last.fm, which is very <3. Also, I switched from Suse to Ubuntu, which is the best change ever, and I've acquired a taste for first person shooters. Shortly after leaving, I read the entire Harry Potter series for the first time in like 3 weeks, and it was amazing, and I'm annoyed that I didn't read it before, though I still don't understand what all the fuss about predicting who would die was about. Sure, it was a little shocking at times, but predicting the plot was much more interesting. Also read Godel, Escher, Bach, its sequel, and bunches of other math books. Still failed to qualify for the AIME, though I'll probably be going to ARML this year. Started using excessive fragments. Discovered 4chan, much to my dismay (I suggest holding off on discovering it, permanently >.<), as well as several nifty webcomics, including xkcd and OOTS. Speaking of which, I started playing D&D, and have the most awesome level 5 CE female Nezumi rogue ever. Started using IRC, and now regularly play Mafia on a channel there.

I might or might not stay. I feel like the way I left was a little awkward, and I really don't miss the PPT I left - I miss the one I joined. I don't know if I'll find that here, but I'm hopeful.

May Arrow bring joy to all our lives, and especially to our fancy meals, ZZ.

You return and the first thing you do is insult our national shark jumping sport?

Next thing you know, he'll start making fun of our use of puppets or zagging young to get the key demos.

Seriously, nice to see you around again. Hope you find a nice reason to stick around... or get too deeply involved in WW games to leave and get stuck forever.

Welcome back Xyzzy! I remember you left somewhat abruptly and a lot of people have been hoping you would come back. PPT has changed a lot since most of us joined. We are trying to recreate some of PPT's former glory, though it's a tough road to travel. If you have any suggestions, I'm sure that you could talk to any of the moderating staff as we're always looking to improve PPT.

I hope you stick around! I really would like to see your new werewolf/mafia skills. Go sign up for Tanner's game!

I suppose it's time for me to add my two cents.

Well, I know who you are and why you left, but I don't know you at all otherwise...so for now, welcome back, and don't leave again!

First off, good to have you on the Ubuntu bandwagon.
Just a little tip, if you ever miss KDE, you can install kubuntu-desktop via apt-get and have both GNOME and KDE on your computer. ^^

Now that I've gotten the nerd talk out of the way...good to have you back. :D
