Why did this happen?

Wed Jun 15, 2005 10:14 pm

Somehow all the computer's cookies and everything got deleted so I had to manually type my username and password in. I've done this a few times before and knew my password off by heart. But this time it said that my username or password was invalid. But I don't understand how my password could have been invalid because I knew what it was! So I had to get a new password. Any reason why this would happen? Why my password would mysteriously change to something else without me knowing?

Either you had caps lock on, didn't actually remember the password, or someone else changed it... Only explanations I can think of. o.o

That's quite scary then. I didn't have caps lock on, and I used the password I always use for everything and believe me, I'd be able to remember it in my sleep. It was definitely the right password. Someone must've changed it o_0

Maybe you just didn't type it in right at that time. That's what I do a lot. Hehe...

Yeah, I do that all the time and I use the same password for virtually everything.

Particularly if you type fast. I have done it many times before because I will accidentally touch the key next to the one I meant to press.

But, Ginger if you are worried that someone figured out your password, just change it to something with numbers and letters mixed together. With some of my passwords, I use old addresses that I either lived at or worked at--only I mix the numbers in with the letters. So, instead of 1234 East Main Street, I might use East12Main34Street. Not that I ever lived at that address, mind you. Just an example. But, something like that is easy enough for me to remember, but way too difficult for a stranger to figure out.
